Alright you Mac owners, explain this to me

I was working on my Graphic Art project at school the other day, everything was moving along nicely. It was almost time for me to go, so I saved the file on my Thumb Drive. Just to be sure I didn't lose it, I saved it on the desktop.

So after I dragged my thumb drive to the eject/trash icon, I waited a minute afterward and pulled my thumb drive out. This was to prevent the Mac destroying all my files on my thumb drive because it happened before! You know, I could do the same thing to my PC and my PC won't corrupt all my files in my thumb drive.

Anyhow back to the matter at hand.

I came to school today, popped in my thumb drive and pulled up the file I saved.

The Mac then pulled up the file, but the file was an older version of what I had done yesterday. So all the work I did yesterday was nearly a waste of time. What the ****!? Do Mac's understand the point of SAVING work?! I saw it sit there, give me the stupid analog clock icon and I didn't touch it afterward, and did the right steps as to pulling out the thumb drive!

Fine, I'll do the whole thing from that starting point.

So I scroll up to the first 2 pages of the project, and OMG! The program CRASHES! Infact, every time I tried scrolling up or even clicking on those pages, the program crashes! What kind of crap is this!?

So now I officially had to start from SCRATCH! After an hour and a half of getting everything in place I went to put in a few pictures for my brochure I was making. I clicked on one of the pictures I used before, and what did the Mac do?

The one thing Mac brags it doesn't do. FREEZE.

What a complete annoyance. I'm so sick of Mac's and their bull**** commercials saying their **** is so much better. The fact of it all is if you don't bend over and ask the Mac to make you it's *****, it doesn't play ball with you. It's more like, you don't use a Mac, it uses you.

This a true story that happened only a few hours ago, nothing was made up, and I even took pics on my phone of the error messages and crashing it did, the oh holy grail of computer systems. I could have done all this work at home on my PC if only the school didn't use an outdated version of InDesign.

Mac does suck. Every one that I've ever used has been much less stable than XP. Not to mention, you have to deal with one ****ing mouse button (I think they may be getting away from this, now...).

Re: Alright you Mac owners, explain this to me

Sounds like a user error, maybe the mac was smart enough to know how to piss you off, and it didn't like the way you fondled its keyboard that particular day. Or it could feel your resentment for it.

Seriously, sounds like something was messed up in this process. I can't tell you what. Not to be an *** but for the future you should have made sure that it saved correctly on your thumb drive, especially if you have had issues with it in the past. Remember not all USB drives are created equal!

Mighty Mouse has two clicks, one button. You just click the mouse on one side or the other but its all one unit.

It was saved on the HD and on the thumb drive! I did absolutely NOTHING out of the ordinary!

It bases work off of a points system, if it relevant to the good of the computer, it will save it as requested. If not, it will **** with it/not save it.

So basically if the Mac thinks its user sucks, it won't save it, because it'll do the computer good to see the user pissed off?

new ubuntu (7.04) was released today, i'm dl it in a bit

the thing i DON'T like about Macs is the way they cripple the hardware that goes into the system. everything is underclocked

also, if the mac you were on was a new intel mac, and you were running a program that was written for PowerPC, then the Rosetta emulator that it uses to run older programs may have had a kernel panic induced when you tried to use the trash can to eject the drive. it's not a common issue, but it does happen

i can understand both sides of the argument though
