I recently received a pm of this nature. I have decided that this has nothing personal in it and decided to make it a nice little public thread.
I see your little tricycle and note that FWD sucks. He does incertain situations. I have drag raced FWD cars since 83 and have won 33 IHRA and NHRA championships. I have won the Corvette Nationals twice with a 11 second FWD car that is totally street driven. In 05 I won the Car & Driver magazine 50th anniversary drag race and last year I won the Dodge SRT Nationals. Mine does not suck, but I agree that most do...especially the ricers! My current dailey driver is a 98 Neon with the base motor (SOHC). It has under $1500 on mechanics and has a best et of 12.17 at 117 mph. I would love to gut it and put in a roll bar to run 11s, but I am a family man and this is our vacation car too. Wife had a 98 Muastang that we sure miss. It had a V6 adn ran 15.2s with very minor amout of work. Look up Angelo Taylor Racing on Google to see a very out of date web site. Even has pics of John Force in my car and beside it!
Ok, look I know this may seem weird and all being on a mustang site with mustang people who like mustangs, but last I checked they were RWD. Now, the other odd thing is I do know about FWD cars and know what they can and can't do and have seen the several milestones that they have crossed and achieved. I see that you have made a mere 8 posts on this site and I will assume that you are fairly new to the site. My opinion is that I don't like nor prefer FWD cars, because it's not my thing. Now, since you have decided to pm me, it appears as though you are assuming that I don't respect them for what they are and what not. Sure FWD's can be fast and I respect anything that is fast.... Seems to me as though you are trying to convert my way of thinking on the matter, though by messaging me this. It's cool, I see what you are trying to do, and in a way I respect that. But in the matter of which I do not respect it, is the fact that you seem to assume that I knew nothing and do not want to. It's just my preference not to even mess with a FWD car. Too each his own. So... yeah... My point on the matter is that was kind of drivetrain do the fastest 1/4 mile cars on the planet use?
Have a great day!
