it works out because a lot of people going into best buy or circuit city don't know much either.

I actually like Best Buy. Granted, their sales associates out on the floor are only good to answer questions like, "What isle is _____ on?". Never for anything technical. I'm my own IT guy, though...so that doesn't ever bother me.

true, but for computer ****, or anything else, its more expensive. the only thing ive bought there in the last year was my keyboard (Eclipse II) since its the same price there as newegg/ebay before shipping.

Re: Letter all Circuit City Employees just recieved from HQ

Actually the Best Buy that is nearby my house has a lot of smart kids working there. In the TV-Tech area especially. I would say.. here is the Major pro and con to Best Buy.

Pro - They have a crap load of associates working on the floor so you'll never see one department with one or two people working there alone.

Con - Everything costs an assload of money there.

Circuit City's Major Pros and Cons

Pro - A lot of cheap products run there, especially open box stuff.

Con - Not enough people working there.

I used to work at CC but quit a year before this **** happened, and now I work as a rep for HP. I was sent to sell some things over at a Best Buy and I pretty much know what goes round at each store.

In terms of management though, Best buy is the worst place to work if you are looking for a kick back tech job. They'll work you to the bone, and if you ever wanted to get promoted, there's little chance you'll ever get higher than assistance unless you actually KNOW somebody in a higher position.

CC's management, it's a pain in the *** dealing with the managers if you don't put alittle effort into your job. But if you sell, you can pretty much get away with anything there. One of our guys was such a good sales man he was the person who always brought the store to budget when he worked. He constantly came in late, microwaved an extended warranty tape till it caught fire.. but he was an incredibly nice guy and everything trusted him when they came into the store to buy something.

I dunno, just my experiences.

Re: Letter all Circuit City Employees just recieved from HQ

I bought both my HD televisions from Best Buy. I went to all the electronics stores in Huntsville and Decatur, and BB had the best price. There were a few places that had matching prices, but nobody had either one cheaper (on the first one, CC told me they couldn't even match BB's price). Since I couldn't find 'em cheaper, and I could get 0% financing at BB, that's where I bought both of them.
