Re: Ricer For A Few Days

those are nice cars. Nissan has really good cars for the price, both the altima and maximas went from crap econobox's in the early-mid 90's to very nice cars like they are now.

Re: Ricer For A Few Days

lol thats a hard one.

if it was my GT vs the Altima, i might have to go with the Altima, seeing that i just use the gt for a dd anyways, the altima would be better suited for that role.

if were talking my belated Cobra or a Altima, duh, cobra.

Re: Ricer For A Few Days

i know my tC has the gated transmissions. I was reading in teh book that my transmission is supposed to be used from "L" to "2", to "3", to "D" in heavy city to increase engine braking and gas savings, and supposed to drive in "D" for interstate drivings. The transmission is supposed to be able to handle downshifts and even tells you in the manual the proper speeds for doin so to prevent over revving....

i didn't think my transmission could handle that kind of abuse... but i dunno...

i also found out my car has a sensor in the rim to alert me of deflating tires over a period of time and to enhance the tire pressure

What does your drive time have to do with getting a manual or an auto? I don't seem to have any problems and I drive in the same traffic you do. :dunno:

You would care because the stock cobra clutch is heavy as hell...

I'm right there with you. But not only does your leg have to go full stretch, but you have to shift from the dash board to the center console.

Better than the dump truck, you have to push it all the way to the firewall to disengage, but the last 1 inch of travel coming up is when it engages. It actually hurts after a while.

i would love that as well. i engage the clutch fully at all times, my shifter doesnt move until my mind senses the clutch hit the floor, and this way i rarely miss shifts, and when i do its when i lazy shift and half *** engage the clutch when im tired in the morning. never missed a shift during a race. i believe it takes more brainpower for you to think about trying to engage the clutch only to the point it needs to be to shift, rather than just banging the clutch to the floor and letting off the instant it hits the ground.

btw i dont like cars that have no clutch feel/feedback, that the shifter has no feel and barely moves, cars that leave me desensitized to the actual workings of the vehicle make me sad. i need/want to be able to feel all 4 tires planted, i need to feel the shifter moving through the gears, even if it is notchy its a tactile response. i need to feel the road under me, the movement of the motor as it nestles in its mounts and the torque twists it sideways getting in the throttle. the only thing i hate feeling in my car is the jumpy rear end, but i think weve had enough IRS debates to last a lifetime. for the record the above reasons is why i dont like beamers, they make me want to fall asleep driving them.
