Well I went and sold it....

Sold the AR-15. Was not planning on it after the last go round with the guy at work. Decided that I wanted to keep it, the whole regret of getting rid of it, Novemeber elections, etc. However this was a big driving factor

$940 cash in hand. After calling around, checking values, etc a used AR is going for about $800-900, at least in our area. Sold it with 3 30 round mags and a case. Decided I will save up, get another one. But for now I have plans that the cash in hand would be great.

So I sold it last night, today this is what I got

Marlin model 25MN .22 WMR, with scope already on it for $188.88. $203.15 after tax out the door in about 20 minutes. Wanted to get a .22LR round rifle, but after a couple gun stores, I found this one and liked how it felt, action is real nice. Hell guy that did my paper work even gave me some free time in the indoor range if I am unable to sight the scope, or if i would like help. So I have a piece of paper that he gave me that I just show up and give to them, free time in the range with a guy. So I really couldnt complain.

Reason I wanted to stick with a LR instead of the WMR rounds was here 50 WMR is about 10 bucks, where 100 LR is 5 bucks. But still 20 .223 is 20 bucks.

Also the cool thing is my buddy RJ was with me. He ended up getting a Marlin .22 also, his chambers the .22LR though. Cant remember the model but it is a semi-auto. He got it for 170, with iron sites.

Next I am gonna use hopefully only 300 more of it for a drop kit for the ranger. the rest I told my wife she can do what she pleases with....which means some bills will get paid on good.

Though one day ill rejoin the AR club. But I dont know if that is before or after I get the 870 Express with synthetic stock that I want.

Doesn't the P-90 also use .223 bullets. Heard those are pricey.

I will get another M-4. Probably build one through Rock River Arms. Also the .45 I get will be a M1911. I also want to get a M1 and a M1903A3.

but for now I will have fun and enjoy the cheap to shoot rifle.

.223 is very expensive. About $1 a round.

Re: Well I went and sold it....

I bought my Bushmaster with 3 mags for $740, New with a case.

Ive bought a box of 500 everytime I bought rounds. Buddy has one too, so a few of us would all split it. Never got 500 for under 150.

on that note some friends and i from ar15.com went to the range yesterday and i got to shoot a class 3 mac 11 and a suppressed Sig Saur mosquito it was freaking awesome nothing like emptying a 30 round mag in less than 4 seconds

Re: Well I went and sold it....

what makes to Wolf rounds so cheap is they are steel casings not brass so they cannot be reloaded

Various places in Huntsville, AL. Larry's Pistol and Pawn, JCs Gun and Tackle, Dick's Sporting Goods, Gander Mountain, Wal-Mart. Been in this debate with a guy on FSB from Washington. He can't understand why I am paying so much. Guess it is the market of Huntsville. Not a common hunting round like .308 so the price is up there, is my best guess.

We dont have gun shows, at least that I have heard of.

Oh and that is typically me buying Wolf ammo too.

While I am thinking of it, Bushmaster and Colt aren't the only ones that make quality weapons. I have heard nothing but good things about the uppers and lowers from Rock River.

i got in a argument with my parents tonight over the whole gun subject. i just brought up i wanted to get one for self defense (a handgun) and mom went ballistic. dad was fairly neutral. i finally said "wow, you guys have been living in this ****hole state for far too long if you are that niave that you think you dont need protection, even if it is just for peace of mind!" and stormed out.

im gonna get one anyways and not tell them, itll prolly come in handy one day and ill be praised for it anyways.

Re: Well I went and sold it....

My parents dont understand my obsession very much, but neither does my wife. When I bought my pistol, I didnt tell them or anything. Just bought it. Didnt tell them. Then I bought my AR. After that I brought them home and showed them, they kind argued it a bit. They dont have a problem with guns, just dont like having them in the house. But hell, they have gotten used to it. Took the .22 over there yesterday and my dad played with it for a few, just like he did the AR. (he retired army so he played with that one a lot more then the .22.

Re: Well I went and sold it....

Kind of off topic but the thread reminded me of the question...

What are the legalities of an MP5. Can you one one at all, or are there civilian model's?

Any difference in design/mod-ability of a civvy version as opposed to a full auto model?

Any of you guys who have done some gun shopping online, where would I prob expect to get the right price on one?

I have always wanted an MP5 with a foldable stock and a red dot sight. The silencer would be nice but those are illegal Im betting.

Hmm i guess I will have to check around.

How expensive are we talking here. So I guess there are two versions of the gun, one with a threaded barrel and one not threaded? Can you change the barrels over?

Are they pump airsofts, or electric? Or those gas powered ones.

And they better have real recoil.

You should videotape yourself getting into a gunfight, wearing a trenchcoat. Strap the guns to you ike the guy does in The Boondock Saints. 6 pistols and give the other two to someone. Walk into walmart and start fighting. Knock people back into shelves and ****. Yea thatd be sweet

Hells yeah!!! I got to shoot an M1 Graham a few weeks ago, don't know if you more experienced gun people consider that "high caliber", but dam that thing was fun. Speaking of that, boy do I have more respect to those in WW II who lugged that thing around everywhere along with another 60 lbs of crap.

Yeah, it is. I didn't know if people considered that of "high caliber" as some opinions differ. I know when I shot that puppy(well big dog) I felt manlier after every shot. That gun is the **** and it lets you know it
