Re: Salvia Divinorum

what i'm saying is she took something LEGAL to get a high and she almost died from it.

if its not prescribed for me by a doctor for something that i actually need, then its not going into my body. just my stance. i think drugs are stupid. i don't even really drink anymore, a martini makes me loopy (ask montecitan, i have 2 cases of corona that have been sitting in my house for about 8 months now)

Re: Salvia Divinorum

That's probably because she didn't know what the hell she was doing. I'm a natural kind of guy. I only have done weed and that's all I will ever do. If you think about it, alcohol goes through more refinement and more combinations of changes to make it what it is than weed. Any idiot who decides to take more Rx's than they should deserves what they get. People have been smoking weed since before we even knew the earth was round. We know the effects and results and what to expect. You take some sort of man made chemical that has been thrown together to do a specific thing and expect that one of the side effects is to **** you up, then you better be ready for the worst. Nature>Man. If you are so narrow minded as to compare weed to some chick who though funneling some vicotin or whatever the hell she took, then you are in for a real reality check. I don't hear you saying a dam thing about people who are smoking cigarrettes, but people are over a hundred more times to be addicted to cigarrettes than marijane, and even more exponentially likely to die from smoking them all of there life. For those of us who smoke mary from time to time(or wish they could like me), close minded people like you are ruining it for all of us.

And don't even try that, "Doctor's know best" routine. If it's anyone you should trust it's your pharmacist(not street corner). They spent years in school learning the effects/after effects of pharmaceuticals and know probably 50 times more about new drugs out there then the doctor that says,"You've got x problem take y drug and it should fix it" most of the time not even checking for the side effects. And go back and check on the accidental death by doctors vs. guns thread for more info on doctors. I'm all for going to the doctor to figure out if I'm sick, but as far as drugs go I'll only trust the pharmacists/specialist

Here is a cool situation in theory though:
Now I'm not saying it'll solve the worlds/U.S's problems, but the money that the government would make off of it would be insurmountable. And think about this, we could probably solve the gas problem, too. Think about how many ideas and genious had an epiphany while they were high. Now imagine that same situation for some biochemist out in the midwest. Sitting at home one night, snacking on some papa johns after a good bowl, then BAM it hits him, why not use...... And put in your happy ending. Not likely but possible. I would almost say that I'd rather weed be legal than alcohol. Think about how many people are angry drunks/alcoholics. Now imagine that same person high. Are they going to be pissed, **** no.

Re: Salvia Divinorum

So what makes a doctor able to prescribe drugs when other people can't? Well, he's went to school. Then they gave him a piece of paper that said he could.

So, and bare with me for a moment 'cause this may sound really ****in' crazy, do some research. Read up on drugs before you take them. Know the possible side effects, exactly how much you should take for your weight, experiences other people have had with it.

Ignorance is way more dangerous than drugs.

Re: Salvia Divinorum

Im not directing anyone or talking about anyone in particular, but anyone who has the balls to bad mouth something that grows from the earth saying it's bad and will screw you up is uneducated about the drugs we are talking about.

Coricidin, Rx pills, Soft, Heroin, Hard all that is life threatening stuff. Why? Because it is refined from some form of natural substance(usually) and the strength is increased. You can die off shooting one syringe of H, but you have to smoke your body weight in weed to die basically. Also true with psychadelics. Uneducated use will send you to a psych ward for permanent psychosis, but no one I know even messes with the quantities of those substances that you would need to do that to yourself. Most of today's negative stigma from drugs arises from those damn hippies in the 70's and coke head cubans from the 80's. IM not being racist either. Anyone who has seen Scarface knows about the Cuban crime wave.

You can die easier off of alcohol than marijuana, salvia, mushrooms, LSD, Opium(not heroin), and some prescription drugs(like vicodin or ritalin/adirol).

All it takes is a little positive drug education in the world today and many of the problems we are seeing like overdoses and drug wars would disappear. Well the drug wars would be a tough fight, but no one wants to sell pancakes if no one likes pancakes(catch my drift?).

DARE is a crock of ****, they only teach to stay away from ANYTHING. They claim that weed will rot your mind. Not true if you are past a certain period of brain development. They tell you alcohol kills. Only if it's used irresponsibly. They tell you that drugs will screw up your life if you ever take them. I know plenty of people working real jobs and making money who I smoke with and trip with. The only people who I have seen go off the deep end are the ones that get addicted to harder drugs. With positive education on dosages, tolerance, and addiction avoidance kids will be more educated and if they do decide to use, they will be more likely to use responsibly. Those that don't? Darwin's theory of Evolution. If your too stupid to listen to the words of caution some may give about the amount you take and you end up dieing, the gene pool grows a little smarter.

And this whole **** about pot being a gateway drug, yea no ****. Ask anyone who uses, the first drug anyone tries are usually alcohol, weed, or nicotine. SIMPLY BECAUSE ITS SO EASY TO GET. I know 10th graders that can get me the best nugs I've ever had.

Point being, there are doctors, lawyers, cops, musicians, judges, construction workers, hair cutters, businessman and woman of all types who use. The only ones you ever hear about dieing are the idiot addicts that push their addiction to the point of death. This only happens because of a weak mind or idiotic aspirations to "get more ****ed up than I've ever been." You probrably know more addicts than your aware of. Alot of users only do so in the privacy of their homes, just enough to take the stress from the day away. Everyone has their drug of choice. It's no different than your dad coming home after work and having a few beers.

Goto erowid.org and read up on some of the stuff before you go and badmouth it. Many drugs if used positively can actually be beneficial to a person overall life. I know my depression subsided after my first intense trip. Mushrooms made me realize there is more to life than what others think of you. It showed me that not everyone can be your friend and most will be your enemy. It TAUGHT me something. Now if teaching a human being something is beneficial than tell me what is. Even if these drugs do affect a person's capacity to concieve reality and to think, I can honestly say it was worth it because now my life is bright and full of hope.

Re: Salvia Divinorum

Btw, Ive used salvia twice, both times were an intense introspective experience. As someone said, it's like stepping into a new universe.

The only reason I don't do it more often is because I get pins and needles when Im coming down. Also hot/cold flashes.

luckily for the guy in the video, what was a few minutes for the people around him, will feel like only a few seconds. his second time (if he has one) will be better, he will know whats coming, and know what not to do. also, your mood going into the experience has a vast outcome of what you experience, i was feeling depressed, alone and angry when i did my 35x experience, and theres no doubt in my mind those emotions had a direct impact on what happenes. if youre feeling good about whats about to happen, good things will come of it. Salvia is definately nothing to be taken lightly though.
