Re: Question for you gun enthusiasts..

They're nice. Almost a little small for my hand, but not too small, and I have a pretty large hand.

I love the balance and the recoil. Just enough to let you know it's there and it's solid.

You can get one for around $400 if you are patient. I've seen some go for $350 on very rare occasions.

Made in the U.S.A. and S&W has awesome customer service.

the XD is made in croatia. both guns feel pretty good but the M&P has a bit lower bore axis so it has less perceived recoil

You can put a full size mag into the compact M&P

other then that, the pistol is only about a year old so the aftermarket isn't too good yet. I like both pistols so I don't intend to get into a pissing match. I just have a slight preference for the M&P.

if concealment is an issue then a J-frame snubbie isn't a bad idea.

Re: Question for you gun enthusiasts..

My carry gun is a glock 27 .40 cal. in my mind a glock is the best carry gun for alround use in the world. I had an S&W sigma witch is a glock clone. and I thought is was junk and I sold it. but for accuracy and a great feel I love my springfield 1911 .45 full size.

Re: Question for you gun enthusiasts..

I'd never own a glock in .40 cal though. That unsupported chamber makes me nervous and I like to reload.

I've got some 147 gr JHP ammo, not reloads for carry. I need to try out some +P 124gr gold dots sometime.

I'd have no problem with a glock in 9mm but not comfortable with the .40 because of the unsupported chamber and the fact that you cant fire lead rounds unless you buy an aftermarket barrel.

the glock .40 has a reputation of going KB

I've heard that the gold dots are great ammo. I get a kick out of the whole "cop killer" bullet garbage. Just the media going nuts over bad information and hype.

yeah, there are a few guns out there that will take lots of cheap mags. That's a nice thing about glocks, you can pick up mags for $15 a piece. Hopefully the aftermarket heats up for the M&P so that I don't have to spend $30-35 per mag anymore! I am up to 5 mags for it so far though
