Computer Reformat Issues
So i went to reformat my computer, havent done so in a while and missed having that "new computer" feeling. moved all the files i liked/needed from the main drive over to my storage ones, and then unplugged them so i dont accidentally overwrite them and lose my important **** (mp3, movies, etc), ive done that before and its not fun knowing you just threw away years of lyrics, tabs, mp3's from the days of napster, etc.
rebooted the machine with the XP dvd, formatted the drive (my only sata one, the only one hooked up) and proceeded to install windows. after windows finishes its install, the pc reboots, then i get a message saying "Error loading operating system". ive done this numerous times. if i keep the xp dvd in, it just wants to reformat/reinstall everything all over again (which ive done tried now a few times). ive changed the boot priorities every which way (hard drive booting first then last, etc) and no dice.
is it possible the XP DVD is corrupt? it does have quite alot of scratches. im going to borrow Vista from my buddy and if that installs and runs fine than it will rule out the Hard Drive being the culprit, meaning the xp dvd is ****ed, meaning ill prolly ask one of my buddies to burn me a new one. if Vista fails to install/run, it would prolly mean the drive is fubar correct? btw im only using vista to check if the drive or dvd is the culprit, i really have no care for it with this system, rather just run a stripped XP than a resources heavy Vista.
let me know if anyone has any ideas. im pretty much at a loss of solutions right now. im about to go crazy, havent had pr0n in like 3 days now.
