Re: This a good digital camera?

I talked with a panasonic rep before, he told me he'd rather sell someone a canon than his product.

Re: This a good digital camera?

i have a canon powershot sd630. i like it. basically the things i looked for when buying one were the camera's reaction time, the resolutions available (megapixels i guess), color quality, and durability.

i searched google for _________(type of camera) review, and there were a lot of detailed reviews of cameras on various sites. someone here probably knows a lot about cameras or something...but that's the one i chose...and it looks cool

Re: This a good digital camera?

go to Digital Camera Reviews and News: Digital Photography Review: Forums, Glossary, FAQ and look around. I would say Nikon or canon or casio any thing over 7.1mp in a point and shoot is kinda pointless btw just a fyi. if u need anything else let me know i work at a camera store right now ...

+1 Very good adice.

Camera companies are kinda like car companies sometimes: Canon/Nikon, Ford/Chevy, Alabama/Auburn etc

I use Canon equipment but Nikon makes top notch stuff too. Something like the Powershot A630 is a very nice camera. Last year's models are still around in stores like Office Depot and Best Buy sometimes for a steal. My brother just bought an A625 (I think that is the model) for $199. Very light weight and compact and takes very nice pics printable up to 8x10 easy.

Canon's Digic II software is very good too.

In 4 years now, I have only had one issue with my old A80 and that was my fault and easily fixed at home.

On a separate note; couple things to buy with the camera: rechargable batteries-the little color displays EAT batteries. Rechargables will pay for themselves. If your computer doesn't have a card reader, get one of those too. Just the USB plug in type is better than using your camera's batteries all the time to upload pics.

Sorry for the long reply. Happy shopping!

Re: This a good digital camera?

Yeah get the Lithium-ion.

There are a few that i would look at. (yeah this is my store but u can get the point.)
Casio EXILIM EX-S770 Digital Camera (RED): 4896999 Cord Camera <Price: $299.99.

Fujifilm FinePix F31fd Digital Camera: 4935169 Cord Camera <Price: $279.99

Fujifilm FinePix F40fd Digital Camera: 4959482 Cord Camera <Price: $299.99

Nikon Coolpix S50 Digital Camera: 4956470 Cord Camera <Price: $279.99 < Try to stay away from the nikon "L" series, and the Canon "A" Line.. they are inrto camera that mean low end and will not hold up over time. >

Olympus Stylus 760 Digital Camera - Black: 4964193 Cord Camera <Price: $249.99 <it is also weather proof.

the Olympus 770sw Olympus Stylus 770 SW Digital Camera - Blue: 4964235 Cord Camera is water, shock proof. also can go under water up to 33 feet. price Price: $379.99

All of the camera's listed are using SD (Secure Digital) except the Olympus will use a xD card. The SD cards are really cheap right now, But only use namebrands like SanDisk, or kingston cards. (cheap like a Sandisk Ultra II 1 gig card is $25 buy one get on free right now from us or a 2 gig for $35 buy one get one.)

lol always a nikon and canon, you just gotta do your research to find the one you really like. I'd go to like Best Buy or Circuit City once you do your research and play around with it. Ask the people if they could get power to the camera so you can play with it. If they give you ****, call their manager, and if they give you ****, call their DM. They'd LOVE to hear how they just turned down a camera sale because they were being too lazy to power a camera that's already supposed to be powered.
