Re: LSS Member Goes In For Tint....

Mustangs are ****ty to tint, the back window has all that dot crap at the top that makes window tint not stick for ****. A lot of people used an old trick of just tinting up to the dot ****, then spraypainting the window black over the dots. The razor blade in the seat was obviously just one they dropped while scraping to clean the glass so that it wouldn't have trash in the tint, big deal. There's also a million customers that get a quote from one guy, then ask for something different when they actually bring their car in. There is more than just one type of tint, and if you don't know exactly what you are talking about, its easy to get misquoted or confused, especially if you get different salesman.

That being said, the scratches are obviously from the tint guy walking around the car with his keys hanging out of his pocket or something. Minimal trash in window tint is common and all but impossible to stop, but if its really bad there is a legitimate gripe there too.

Re: LSS Member Goes In For Tint....

I'm thinking of tints as the next thing I do to my car. If my car comes back like this it's twist his arm, insert shotty in armpit, pull trigger, beat him with his own arm that you just blew off of his body.

Re: LSS Member Goes In For Tint....

one unhappy customer can = up to 10 possible customers lost, according to a ford study.. (was on ford's dealer website) that doesn't sound like much but if each one of those 10 tells 10, and so on... it adds up quick

Bad business practice for sure

Re: LSS Member Goes In For Tint....

damn... if it were me, id dispute it with my credit card company (granted they paid with a CC)... those guys are usually on your side during something like this, and at the very least they wouldnt have to pay for the tint so they could put that money towards fixing the car.

That blows *** though, I'd be so pissed... and there would be a lawyer at that place later that afternoon.

There would have been cops first I think. I think they should have stayed there, raised such a stink that the cops had to be called...or just called the cops themselves...so that there would have been record of the car being scratched at the tint shop...by leaving, that removed any absolute proof that the car was like that while at the shop.

None the less, word of mouth is a very powerful tool....for both good and bad. StangHi here in town does no advertising and has more business then he can handle...all from word of mouth. So, they have the right idea of posting on all the boards and getting the word out.

When I had mine tinted the installer sanded the rear window bump Said it was the only way to get the tint to stick properly It's been on for 3 years with no problems

That's what I was told when I got my 00 GT tinted years ago...it was either sand it down, or put a strip of black vinyl over the area, or just tint up to it and leave it. That was the only way to make the bumps not bubble eventually.

I think I will do the sanding version when I get the couple retinted...don't have to worry bout it in the cobra though, luckily
