Transformers the Movie

Apparently they pulled a fast one on all of us and there was a nationwide 8 oclock showing tonight. I found out 24 minutes till 8 and went and saw it. It veered from the basic storyline a tad, well a lot depending on how big of a fan you are.

On that note. Greatest movie of the year, period. Had an awesome plot, awesome effects and kept most of the original voices as best they could. I could have just done without the whole GM sponsorship....

Movie of a lifetime, I loved it.

Re: Transformers the Movie

I've been waiting for a live action movie of transformers since I was 4 when it first came out ... Ok maybe not that long... But I remember watching the cartoon in 1984 if that tells you how old I am

Re: Transformers the Movie

One of the best movies of all time! The vehicle types deviated a little bit, but the overall movie was good from start to end. Optimus Prime wasn't a Punk like he was on the cartoon. It had alot of humor. told some of the back story, and left it wide open for the trilliogy. I will be seeing it again! BTW Bumble Bee doing in the Barricade must have been cooked up by GM's brass......Bastards!

Re: Transformers the Movie

I have heard it sucks...the camera work is too shaky and all kinds of stuff like that. A couple have said it was great. It has really been, it has either completely sucked or was amazing...there has been nothing in the middle yet.

Re: Transformers the Movie

Definitly the movie of the year and defintily one of my favorite movies that I have ever seen. The vehichle types are supposed to deviate because its set in modern day. The camera work is supposed to be shaky in some scenes to give you the feeling that you are there and running right along with the actors. If ppl think that the camera work is too shakey, then they dont understand how the directors use the cameras and what not to give you different feelings as if you were rly there.

its actually "to punish and enslave". Would be a little odd to protect and to enslave. lol

The people that are telling me that understand why it was shaky...they just think it was way overboard and over done. Several have come back saying it is some of the worst camera work they have ever seen.

I will probably see it in a couple weeks....let the "stupid crowd" down here a chance to get it out of their system so I can see it in peace and quiet.

Re: Transformers the Movie

Just got back from seeing it! Awesome. Period. They did an awesome job. The whole time I had this huge smile on my face. Autobots rocked. Camaro was sick, even the solstice was sick. Megatron is definitely coming back without a doubt. Best 9 bucks I ever spent. Now I'm beat and gotta crash for work later. Happy 4th everyone.

Re: Transformers the Movie

I saw it monday at 8. Greatest movie of the year, and one of the best in awhile.

Honestly I didnt really notice the "shakey camera" So I cant really comment on it being overboard....cause to me apparently it wasn't if I hadnt noticed it. When I think of shakey camera I think back to saving private ryan storming the beach. Which I loved it like that, but of course people will ***** about anything.

my only real complaint about the movie was I wanted to hear starscreams voice....the original starscream. It was awesome haveing optimus' original voice. Would have been cool if soundwave would have been in it too.

Barricade looked great, must say even Bumblebee was awesome. Jazz and Ironhide were hilarious in few spots. Of course Optimus looked great.

Overall it was a great movie and I am going to go see it again after pay day. Take the wife this time.

Re: Transformers the Movie

Saw it last night, and wow! It was truly great. I hadn't really been able to follow all the series' really well, but man...it was awesome. I actually think thses movies could do more for the Transformers franchise than all these super hero movies are doing for comics.

Re: Transformers the Movie

it was pretty good, they are already working on the next two and someone told me the story is close as they were underwater at some point just like they are now.

Re: Transformers the Movie

i saw it and i loved it. can't wait for the rest of the trilogy

i could have done without the whole "look for the glasses/distract the parents/hot girl in room/autobots 'hiding'" scene.. that was just TOO over the top

i also wouldn't have been adverse to about 20 more minutes of exposition to establish the robot's personalities a bit better. they were very two dimensional

but other than those 2 points, i loved it.. they even included the "one shall stand.. one shall fall" line, from the original animated movie... kudos to the cast and crew

megan fox was freakin HOT!

Re: Transformers the Movie

Yeah I liked how they tied in a few different quotes from the movie and one or two famous ones from the series.

And yes, Megan Fox is about to become BIG! Apparantly she was already voted one of FHM's 100 hottest women of `06 and she wasn't even really discovered yet.
