Transformers discussion: Spoiler warning

Well, after further research, I'm beginning to become very aggravated with the movie......

Bumble bee was NEVER British/English. WTF????? And he was the biggest puss in the whole autobot brigade. He ran when the humans ran. wtf??

The Allspark is actually a place where autobots go when they die and where life comes from when they are "created." It's NOT something that you can destroy.....

How the **** do you kill of Jazz already? I guess we are still in the time of day when the token black guy dies in the movie.

And dammit, the whole movie was practically funded by the US Military and GM. They could have just put a commercial at the beginning that said, buy a silverado, and join the military.

I still say it's the greatest movie of the year, because there are so many storylines for Transformers that take place in so many different times, but as far as it following the storyline in the cartoon... meh.

After discussion with a co-worker, I think I know why Bumblebee is not portrayed as a puss in the movie...it is because it is a craparo...and I am sure chevy didn't want their new car to be a pansy in the movie...just imagine the ragging the blue oval faithful like myself would give over that.

Re: Transformers discussion: Spoiler warning

Actually what annoyed me the most was the fight between Optimus Prime and Megatron. From my memories, those fights were always close between the 2, in the movie it seemed like Optimus would never have had a chance...but then for whatever reason they didn't include the part of Optimus that was normaly the semi trailer.

Re: Transformers discussion: Spoiler warning

well its a new movie, of course its not going to follow the cartoons. If anyone wants to see a recreation of the cartoon, go watch the toon version again. not trying to be a d!ck.

and yea, I also noticed all of the army advertisements. The theatre I went to has never ever had any army advertisements in it, so it rly stood out for me.

And Bumble Bee was a scout autobot. He wasn't meant to be in the middle of the fight. Bumble Bee was never a puss, he was a recon bot, so of course he is going to run from a fight when he is under powered and out numbered.

Exactly what I was saying.... I don't get why they tried to make him so important in the movie

Also, did anyone catch the "double pumper" carbs???!?!?!?

The dude in the movie was so intrigued by the chick knowing so much about cars and what not and she was saying how this was such and such with a double pumper intake/carb setup, and then when it actually shows the engine, it's an individual throttle body(ITB) setup.

Or that her first comment was on the "headers". If I had seen a motor that looked like that in person I would have messed myself before saying anything about some dumb headers.

Exactly, where the hell is that motor from anyway. I was thinking it's actually out of the Camaro concept, but I don't recall the ITB setup on the concept.

Its pretty much just because he was the first autobot on earth, hence scout. lol. And the movie just focused on him bcuz of the storyline with Sam and basically the discovery of the his car actually being a robot.

But that motor was definitly freakin shweet. I dont understand why they had her say something about the headers, instead of having a heart attack from seeing an engine that, im pretty sure, noone else has ever seen.

Chevy paid enough for advertising in this movie they needed to have their "soon to release" car be in the forefront...which is probably why the mustang got its *** kicked as well.

There were some good references to the original movie. I didn't expect it to follow the storyline of the cartoon at all.

I enjoyed it, it was a good movie and didn't completely ruin transformers like I was worried that it might

Re: Transformers discussion: Spoiler warning

Ah true. I'd say Transformer's was the best GM commercial I've ever seen. lol

Some odd things about the audience I was with when watching the movie

*Beginning of the movie after the introduction a group of people stood up and applauded.

*When they showed the new Camaro everyone cheered and did the Ooooo and Aaaaahs

*People gasped and cheered every time a deceptacon was killed

You missed the biggest thing that annoyed me with the movie - Bumblebee is a VW BEETLE, not a CHEVY. Why did they have to make that bot BumbleBee? There's a ton of other Autobots they could've chosen instead.

I laughed out loud when the new Camaro showed up on screen (I think the people next to me thought I was on crack or something). It was exactly the same shot that you'd see on a TV commercial - car pulls up, camera zooms in, full frame, 3/4 view, bright car, dark background.
Good job by Chev making sure that the Camaro was so prevalent in the movie, but it got to the point that it was really laughable.

The entire movie was a giant product placement ad though - Chevy/GMC, Hummer/Jeep, Nokia, the military, ... also, wasn't it a Mountain Dew machine that changed at the end? Being a Ford fan though, I really noticed that they barely showed Barricade (the Saleen cop car) - hell, when Bumblebee took him down in the construction yard, you didn't even see the fight. WTF? Ford vs Chevy should've been front and center IMO. It's what everyone was expecting to see after finding out that BB was going to be a Camaro and they didn't deliver!

With all that said, and despite it being a Michael Bay movie (*shudder*), I was really impressed though. In a year packed with more sequels than you can count on your fingers and toes, this was finally a breath of fresh air.... and it actually had a storyline to it! The "more than meets the eye" lines were pretty cheezy with how they were used - but I did expect to hear it at least once in the movie since it is the Transformers catch phrase, and the comedy used in there wasn't a bunch of gags like so many movies rely on these days (god do I hate gag jokes!). It's definitely a movie you should see on the big screen if for no other reason but to just appreciate the scale of things.

.... and watching Megan Fox all movie definitely did not hurt at all. GOD DAMN.
(she reminds me a lot of Jennifer Connelly, but hotter!)

Re: Transformers discussion: Spoiler warning

I swear I thought I *****ed about it on here... Either way, I *****ed about it enough in real life and during the whole movie to make up for it... Bumble bee was a puss scout that was a yellow VW bug...

Oh, and Jazz was originally a Porsche 935 race car, not some dam solstice either. And where the **** was Optimus Prime's trailor. He would have whooped Megatrons *** hand down if he had that.

Yes, yes you should have... One, it was mistaken for a GM product, and two, the GM product that the movie car was, wasn't even the new camaro.... So wrong. I would have called Chief Slapaho.

Re: Transformers discussion: Spoiler warning

From just watching the original 1986 movie the other day...Optimus would get his *** handed to him by Megatron. I remember it from the cartoons, yes he put up an awesome fight, but it was always thinking ahead/using his brain the would allow him to win....if you remember from the 86 movie. Optimus died very quickly in the movie. As he was dying he handed the leadership position to Ultra Magnus.

Yes Bumblebee was suppose to be a VW, but would you have really wanted to see him as a new Beetle. They did note that he was a bug in the movie...notice the old yellow bug next to BB at the car lot.

And as for the all-spark, remember the movie from 86 again. They followed part of its old story line again. It being 6 am, I cant quite remember everything, but iirc Ultra Magnus did similar to what Sam did to Megatron in the new movie, but to himself to keep the Decepticons from getting it.

As for the movie, it was great. One of the best in a few years that I have seen. I didn't go in there expecting it to follow 100% with the cartoon. And I watched it as if I had never seen Transformers before, because I know there would be mistakes from what the cartoons were like. Just like any movie derived from a book, game, cartoon, or TV show. It is going to happen to sell tickets. And other then a few guys on the internet, I have not heard anything bad about the movie. Everyone enjoyed it and loved the movie....but some people can not be pleased.

ok, so i went and saw the movie again today for the second time, and i realized in the end that the Saleen Mustang Decepticon was never in the final fight scene and they never told you what happened to him...i dont think anyone has said this in this thread, but im not going to read through again to find out lol...

there were 6 decepticons in the movie...4 of which were killed in the final fight scene (megatron, bonecrusher, the tank, and the helicopter)...they show starscream flying back into space during the credits, but they never show what happens to the saleen...that bugs the hell out of me lol

BB just beat him up, he didn't kill him because the saleen shows up later in the movie 2 more times...he shows up when all the decepticons are en route to find the cube...and then he also shows up again in the interstate chase scene just before optimus prime kills bonecrusher under the overpass...so he wasnt killed in the fight with BB...
