So, Friday afternoon, I put a bag of clothes in my trunk and started out to Las Vegas! My excitement soon waned as I made FIFTEEN (15) miles in the first hour. While my baby, Miglena, gets about 20-25mpg at freeway speeds... idling in traffic for an hour just sucks the gas right out of her. I had to fill up again before I even got out of Los Angeles county!
With all the Friday Vegas goers... the whole ride out was pretty uneventful. I had a great time up there visiting with a dear friend whom I hadn't seen in just over 3 years. (Yes, I didn't get back to the hotel room Saturday morning until about noon.)
I just finished the return trip... I left at a little before eight o'clock am. The roads were practically empty. 312 miles in just under 3 hours. I had a GSXR600 try and keep up with me for a few miles, but a quick spurt to 155 for a couple of minutes dissuaded him.
As a side note... If you do not own a radar detector, a good one, I suggest getting one. Averaging 103mph with a gas stop... Priceless.
