hmm... what a shame. You haven't gotten to Chrome yet? Is Google supporting you at all?

Holy ****ing ****! It was you!

Sorry I was looking up the latest news on the Cr48 and went to read about Win7 booting up. I saw in the article the person mentioned by name and thought "Wow, Brent Wilson sure does sound familiar".

I don't think I'm getting one. Signed up ~Dec. 10th and again a day after when I got a green little banner on Chrome. I'm still watching my door step though

Re: Google Sent Me CR48 With Windows 7 On It

Hi, I posted in your thread on ubuntuforums but in case you don't see it I am asking here too.

Is there a driver on your CR-48 for the function keys? I just installed W7 and they don't work, not being able to adjust brightness is a deal breaker for me. If you could check it would really help, thank you.

Re: Google Sent Me CR48 With Windows 7 On It

This maybe the only chance to get this to work right.

Can you please check in device manager for the keyboard driver and any other hot-key or input device? Also please run msconfig.exe and check for startup programs that control the hotkeys, I have often seen them there. Last place to check would be services.msc, maybe there is a background service running.

This is the only thing standing in the way of Windows running flawlessly on this laptop.

I thought the laptop lacked Function Keys physically?

I also thought the purpose of using this laptop was to test Chrome and not Windows?

That's how I feel.. I don't even want to know what those are. I didn't even pay attention to the binary.

Yes thank you!

I'm sorry but it's kind of annoying me seeing all these Cr48 reviews that talk about everything on this laptop besides the Chromium OS and cloud computing, the things it was meant for.

Now I can't blame anyone for wanting to do more with it, hell I have my own ideas on some changes but I'd get used to the laptop first and only when Chrome OS releaases and such would I change things.

It doesn't lack function keys, they just don't say F1-12 on them.

Chrome is great and I am testing it, but I have to connect to a corporate domain regularly and run MS software so I can't ditch Windows completely.

If Google would only build-in an rdp client...

Microsoft Office programs or programs that just run on Windows?

Microsoft has a Chrome App to use some of their Office programs, I think you just need a Live ID (Don't have Chrome OS so I haven't tried this yet).
