The TR6060 is supposed to be one of the beefiest 6 spd manuals on the planet right now that bolts up to a V8 :yup:. More beer for us

Exactly. Hell in the original, there is no computer generated "jumping of an ambulance" like it's ****ing Free Willy or some ****. I swear, even the first time I saw the movie, I was waiting for a kid to stand on the top of the ambulance and rub the undercarriage of the car. The original is THE ****. Especially when those black kids were high as a kite in that caddy


And what the hell??? GT500E?? Who the hell disgraces a name that Carroll Shelby so graciously gave a mustang by change the KR(king of the road), to some ****ty movie? That movie ruined the actual car. That stupid *** go baby go or whatever button is probably thought to come stock by most of the population now.....

the gsx came way after the cobra left, i sold the cobra in october and got a bike for uber cheap, which i sold the bike in march (made some money out of the deal) and got the gsx. the gsx is my project car, i got it for 900$ with skipped timing, so i got a rebuilt head for 300, multi-layer head gasket and arp studs (so i can now safely run up to 30psi without worrying about lifting the head or blowing the stock crappy felt gasket) for 200, and a better exhaust manifold for 100$, so 900$ + 600$ and its a running vehicle. not bad if you ask me, it needs a little work on the outside but right now that doesnt even bother me enough to get a new fender and 200$ maaco paint job. itll become ****ing fast before it looks good, whereas my GT looks good before it will become ****ing fast (i dont like the thought of modding a car im still paying on).

thomas, i like your car. sucks u got Fed on ur paint job but it looks nice. but this is why i love indy, its dirty cheap to live here, thats why im a 22wm with one 81 in a 65 tick. I have my Mustang and my 02 explorer yeah yeah hahaaha

Only Brent can answer that.

As much as I love the GSX, I had a friend that owned one. Fixed it all up at it was blowing oil through the turbo. Spent like $2k on it. Got it out on the first week and split and the block in two.

What turbo did he go with? alot of guys went with the Turbonetics garbage at one time and were having the same issues, turbonetics had a 1 year warranty so guys were sending back turbo's left and right until they got lucky and found one that was good. was his oil return line clogged or crimped, thatll cause the oil to back up from the feed and the pressure has to go somewhere (especially if hes getting his source from the filter housing and not the head), so naturally the oil goes through the seals and boom, blown turbo.

and something sounds seriously horrid if he split the block in two. Shep runs the stock block (coolant passages are filled and drilled, thats about it) at 40 whatever psi and lots of nitrous on methanol and has yet to do that on years of passes on the same motor. same with Brent Rau and others at that level. the actual 4g63 block is so overbuilt the above statement just baffles my mind on how that would happen. hell we intentionally tried to kill a 4g63 and failed (buddy needed an excuse to do a 2.4 stroker), the only thing that went was the head gasket. we ran 91 pump gas, 30psi on a 57trim, and leaned out his fuel to where his timing was at near 0 due to all the knock (we figured this should melt a piston or two) and he blows the gasket at the top of 3rd.

Well, I know the previous owner that had it before him ran it into the ground. I know it was well over 200,000 miles on the engine. I know that the intercooler and everything on the cold side was covered in sludge. All they did was rebuild the head and cleaned out the intercooler. I am willing to put money down the head or the block was warped. Then of course, I know he turned the boost up way past what he sould have with a car that old. I remember him saying that the block was split and he showed me the rod was bent over.

So the lesson of the story is not to hand a boosted car to a 17 year old.
