Got into an accident last night...

Traveling south on military last night to go to our friends house for dinner when we were just entering an intersection and an old couple in the opposite side turned left right in front of us. Looked like he wasnt sure if he could make it or not and kinda hesitated and that put him right in front of us. Had my girl and our puppy in the car and saw the car, hit the brakes which didnt do much cause it had rained just earlier, heard her scream and then everything was white. Thank god we were wearing our seatbelts. We hit the passenger side door and front fender and we did a half turn and the other car got pushed over ontop of the pedestrian walk signal and the traffic light base. Got out and ran over to the passenger side of our car and pulled my girlfriend out and then looked for our puppy. Both of them were in shock and I had to carry her to the sidewalk and grab our dog before she ran out into the street. After the cops and fire dept. came they were looking over Joey and the car and one of the tow guys was like, is that brains in there? I kinda laughed and told him it was dinner but not anymore. We went to the hospital last night cause Joey was saying she was having pains in her ankle, knee, and neck. Thankfully nothing was broken just really badly bruised and her ankle had a bad sprain. She took a beating cause she was holding what we were bringing on her lap and when the bag went off she kinda tucked into a ball and everything got slamed into her. Woke up this morning sore as anything and called out of work and took her to take care of the car stuff and insurance stuff and rental, etc. I will have to say her car took it pretty well. 2007 Jeep Patriot brand new with like 1000 miles on it so she is bummed out about it. After everything I was glad that we werent in my car cause I would have bet that my car wouldnt have held up that well and we could have all been in a bad state. Here are some pics for you all to see:

Re: Got into an accident last night...

Wow, that is a pretty nasty wreck... It could have bun much worse, and I am glad it wasn't.

P.S. Yay for the Jeep saving the day, but oh how it hurts to see that pretty little Jeep banged up.

Re: Got into an accident last night...

Yeah the jeep did a good job. Bella, our puppy, is better then the two of us. We got back from getting checked out last night and all she wanted to do is play with us. I think when we hit she hit the back of the passenger seat and dropped down into the foot well behind the seat. I was afraid she might have flown up into the dash but she was tucked under the seat. She was shaking and all right after the hit but she seems like her self today. Thanks for asking!

Re: Got into an accident last night...

Yeah the old people were ok, the guy had a cut on his hand but that was about it. They were mainly in shock.

Re: Got into an accident last night...

Hey guys just thinking of things about the car. They are looking at it to check what needs to be fixed and what its going to cost and they said the engine looked ok but I wa thinking like yeah the engine might look ok but what about the internals?? I mean moving parts getting slammed to a stop really fast has to do something to something or mess up the drivetrain and stuff. Sucks cause the car was only 30 days old and if it gets fixed then what about all the problems that might come up later that wouldnt happen if the car wasnt in the accident know what i mean? My dad had a similiar accident and had problems every year with inspection and had to replace stuff every time to pass.
