Dumbass Mistake Rant

I'm pretty ****ing pissed at myself right now. I was doing the vinyl inserts on my car and for some reason thought they were like my friends we did on his Camaro.. soak the paper with vinyls in water then slide off paper and put on bumper. NOPE, they were ****ing peel and place.. and now the M & U have paper stuck on the backs.. they stuck to my bumper but I really don't think they're gonna stay, and now I get to pay 20$ for just two letters.

Holy hell. Such a dumb mistake, I know.. and the way my OCD is, it's bugging me a flippin' lot.

So fat they are sticking.. I really hope I don't need new ones.. you think they sell them as just single letters for cheaper?

Re: Dumbass Mistake Rant

I think we have all done very similar things... Just wait till your approaching 60 years old and things keep changing at 100 miles an hour... And you have all this accumulated knowledge which is fast becoming obsolete...

I've got a new saying these days, "I'm not stupid, I'm just old!'

It works for young people too, just substitute the word "young" for "old"....

Don't be so hard on yourself.... Learn from your mistakes. You won't learn anything new if you don't screw up every once in a while...

Re: Dumbass Mistake Rant

Very true Beav, very true..

The letters seem to be staying in place in the dry weather.. but instead of a perfect fade of Vinyl to Paint there is a white trim around the M & the U.. maybe I'm letting that bother me more than I should but I gotta have everything PERFECT, one flaw like that bugs me to death. lol

Can't tell unless you really inspect it. I'm debating if I should buy new letters or move on to the delete kit.

Eh, you cant even see it in the first pic. I wouldn't worry about it. At least the car is silver and not dark colored. It would be more noticeable then.

Try and find some type of adhesive remover. I got some **** here that will take that right off. Just use it lightly and it shouldn't harm the vinyl.

Re: Dumbass Mistake Rant

Thanks guys, I'm kind of not obsessing about it as much so it's not bugging me. It's probably one of those things no one will see unless they look close. I just hate having any flaws if you look close.

I have came to the conclusion I am going to keep them as is, and if for some reason the M or U do fall off during the next rain fall or before the other ones, I'll just buy a new set and stick them back on the right way.

Maybe I'll start a trend if I drive around with just STANG in the bumper.. lol

When you really like your car, every little thing is noticeable. And it pisses you off.

Agreed, it's bad.. I just ordered the Mach 1 Grill Delete Kit so hopefully it comes sooner than later and then I'll be too walking around the front of the car when I get out instead of the back.. lol

Re: Dumbass Mistake Rant

They are falling off, half the letters are raised. Rain tomorrow should finish the job. Just ordered new ones, so hopefully they come the same day as the grill delete and I'm off Tuesday and Wednesday, so the car should be back to nice mode once they come in.

Now, should I peel off the STANG if the M & U fall off, or leave it as STANG till the new ones come in.. lol

I wld leave the stang there. You will have extra letters that way in case some get knicked or fall off. You can even put them on ur wall or something. Its perfect cuz ur extras wld spell stang.

Re: Dumbass Mistake Rant

Yeah that makes sense, to keep them on.. I just assumed peel them off to not look dumb.. but it's only for a few days and I'll just reverse in all my parking spots. I'd rather have spares and be embarrassed then have no spares and have something happen to the new ones, like a knick or such as you stated.

Good call.

Exactly. Plus, who gives a **** what people think. Its all about what you like (unless it's rice...than we have a problem). And its only temporary so dont worry about it.

Re: Dumbass Mistake Rant

Well, woke up this morning to this ****ty snow and figured this would happen..

Ordered the new ones yesterday before the snow or rain even came seeing they were basically flapping in the wind. Should be here Wednesday or Thursday.. Grill Delete Kit shipped out today! Got a fun week ahead of me, not gonna let this hold me back from modding!

This is the new look!
