And I need some help. I have2 mustangs a 84 5.o convertible and a 96 white mustang gt convertible but I believe there is a crack in the block. I bought her with blown gaskets rebuilt everything! And there was still oil in the coolant-.- broke my heart. I have come across a cobra engine transmission computer superchip and cobra rims with fresh tires the engine is rebuilt for 600 the guy ima get it from will even drop it in butt my question to all of you is; is it worth going from auto to stick and would I need the wire loom? What wires would need to be split if not? And would I encounter and problems during the swap?
If you don't mind the check engine light to be on all the time then you can use the automatic harness, just find which wires start the car and wire them together and which ones are the reverse lights and wire a plug that goes on the standard trans.
But for the oil in the water thing did you change the intake? sometimes the intake will crack and let oil in the water, and the early 4.6 is known for cracking the intake.
