Guys help me out here pls!!!

Ok guys I'm helping my mother in law get her car. Well she's 59 and unfortunately she's not into ponys, so that sucks. We went to check out this 08 maxima 3.5 fully loaded, moon roof, nice sound system, very very good condition, 15.5gs ..KBL says 18gs. Ok she has 5gs cash, but I don't know what's a better way to use those 5gs. Should I use that towards the price? So we can just finance 10.5gs, Or maybe just wait till all the financing goes through and pay that towards the principal. Am I making sense? Please excuse me all the people that think this is a stupid question, but I've learned that "there's no stupid question, than the 1 that never gets asked". Thanx guys

Honestly I recommend buying American. Although I'm not really a Nissan fan. 4cyl accord is a great car though.

Damn right, that's what my wife has 02 4cyl accord. As a matter of fact my mother in law is offering those 5gs for my wife's accord, but thats the reason why she won't pass it over, it's an awesome car, I do regular maintenance and that cars runs like new. + is a daily girl driven car, so it still smells like new

Yeah. That Honda 4cyl is really hard to beat for reliability. I wish I could say that gm or ford could compete with it but they can't.

Just so you know also, the down payment on a car will essentially go toward the principal of the loan in a sense anyway. Also, with less financed, you can probably get a better rate from the bank.

I sold cars for almost 4 years, so I know what goes on behind the curtains. The more you have down, the better the bank is with loaning the money.

So you're pretty much telling me to use those 5gs for down payment? Ok

Re: Guys help me out here pls!!!

I have heard that before about the less of a loan the better the rate you will get. I hate car loans to be honest and have not taken one out in about 10 years I say buy what you can with cash and no looan IMO. Even if you get an older car with a few more miles you will be ahead of the game in the long run. Again this is just my 2 cents

I agree
I am so glad that I don't have payments on my baby
and my fiance got screwed with his car but this was before he met me so I couldn't have helped him out
but yeah, try to get as much of a down payment as possible then make payments on whats left over
since they charge lots of interest on what is loaned the less the better

Re: Guys help me out here pls!!!

No doubt the larger down payment will help you out with the financing...the only reason the bank gave me the loan was because I put 10K down...
