New toy.

Can't afford a Mustang as of right now. So I got a bike.
An 01 CBR 600 F4i. It is about spotless, having only 3 scratches. But it goes like hell.

Re: New toy.

Nice I have had many sport bikes and sure do miss them since my back injury stops me from riding anymore like that.

Good luck and be safe its the other drivers you need to watch more than yourself.

Nice bike man had a cbr 929 rr and finally realized I was going to die on it. When a car swerved into my lane and a hit the median strip.

People don't watch out for you. Be careful

Re: New toy.

Best advice in the world from another rider...WEAR YOUR GEAR and wear it all the time regardless of tempatures outside. Buy quality gear...it'll save your a$$. I wrecked last year at Beaverun Racetrack outside of Pittsburgh going 140mph and walked away with only a bruise calf...my helmet, suit, boots and gloves...trashed but I walked away. The bike...of course totalled but I'm more important than those.

Wear your gear, if you haven't already - take the safety course and watch for other drivers.

Thanks. I've been almost hit every time I take it out. If people would learn to turn their heads and not trust their mirrors. I wouldn't have a problem.
My problem is I'm already looking to upgrade to a 1000.

I recommend never riding alongside other cars. I tend to zoom past them real quick and sit in front of them where they can see me.

I had a butt pucker moment the other day on mine. There's a big long sweeper turn on the highway right near where I live, and I love just blasting through it. I usually make sure there's no cars in either lane, but I hadn't been on the bike in a while and wanted to play... so I drop a few gears, pull the bike to about 12-13k RPMS and just start railing through this turn. Sure enough, the car in the other lane starts merging over as I'm coming up on them at about 125mph. OH **** crossed my mind, I pulled the bike up and got on the brakes HARD only to have her see me and veer back over real quick.

That one was my bad, but point is be careful. Bike's are a whole different realm from cars... they're so much fun.

Re: New toy.

A little trick I ure is to pay attention to the cars wheels I find just before they change lanes or turn their tires will move a little , it might not work for everyone but it works for me.
