That's like asking a vegetarian to eat a steak, makes no sense. Is it because it's stronger or heavier? Beer wars are like a v6 vs v8 thread.

More like Champagne and Sparkling Wine. Same substance, one is just a whole lot better tasting & higher ABV.

This is why you get barrel aged beers. Stouts & porters aged in bourbon barrels. You may just enjoy that a bit.

Re: What are you drinking thread

With summer time in full swing here in Florida I've got to move away from the IPAs. Terrapin has a great wheat beer that is just awesome on a hot night. Its called Sunrays and I highly recommend it. Sam Adam's Summer ale isn't to bad either.

Sam Adams Cherry What isn't too bad as well. A nice Lager goes a long way like Full Sail's Sessions in the red label. Bridgeport's Stumptown Tart will soon be making an appearance. Even Pyramid's Audacious Apricot is quite great!

Ever try anything from Unibroue Brewing Company??? Canadian based but GREAT stuff worth checking out.

I have a special place in my heart for Unibrue. I love their Trois pistel. Their Damn Fine Ale is also a great beer. The apple beer...can't ever remember its name...is really good for a palete cleanser when trying lots of different types of beers in the same night.

You mean Éphémère? I didn't think that was too too bad. Ever tried their Terrible Ale?

Re: What are you drinking thread

I haven't tried the Terrible ale. I've been getting into the lighter, easier to drink beers due to the heat down here. Seirra Nevada has a golden bach called Glissade. That beer is so good and it still has an abv over 6%.

Ever try any of the Sierra Nevada 30th Anniversary Beers? I have about 5 or 6 of them aging in a 45-50 degree fridge along with Stone's 09/09/09 and 10/10/10 Vertical Epics!!!!

I live on the Washington & Oregon border and Oregon is said to have more breweries per capita than any other state in the union. We also get stuff from CA. like Stone, Sierra Nevada, Pyramid etc. People take their beer uber seriously out here.

Thats like comparing Pepsi to Mt Dew!

Monster Rehab is lemonade and iced tea, similar to AP. Rockstar Zero would be better compared to Monster Absolutley Zero.

It does only have 3 grams of sugar per serving, plus only 10 calories per serving!

And sorry to hear that : (

Nah, I can't stomach barrel aged beers for the most part. I can drink beer like no tomorrow but put hard alcohol in my 6'3 286lb body and I'm tossing my cookies like no tomorrow. A company called Full Sail puts out 1 barrel aged release per year. This year is the Stout release that's bourbon barrel aged whereas next year it will be a porter. If you dig barrel aged beers, you will love some of the stuff coming out of the PAC NW.

On the subject of wheat beers. You ever try Widmer's Hefeweizen? Most people I know from out of town love & drink that stuff by the gallon. It should be available in all 50 states.
