Love that Sweet Tea

This is definately one of the things I loved about the south and its just not the same up here in the north...

Re: Love that Sweet Tea

Sweet Tea > *

I must say, of all the items in the world to eat/drink, sweet tea would be my favorite by far. Nothing quite like working outside in the heat all day and coming home to 3 or 4 glasses of ice cold sweet tea over a huge mountain of ice.

You can ask Tiff, but I normally drink a pitcher or so of sweet tea with dinner. Myself and my friends have been known to drink a pitcher more of tea than the number of ppl we have somewhere. So, 6 people, we drink 7 pitchers of tea.

Now I wanna try it.

Tell me, what do you use, and how would you make it. I'd like to experience what I'm missing out, it sounds wonderful

Are you kidding me? Youve never had sweet tea? Wow... thats all we drink down here

If I use the big tea bags I use 4.... small 7. Put about 3 1/2 cups - 4 cups of sugar in a big pitcher. Put the tea bags in a pot of water and let it boil, when it starts boiling leave it in a few minutes after, then drain it into a big pitcher and stir until all of the sugar is dissolved add water then put it in the fridge. Get a Glass of ice and fill with sweet tea and enjoy!

Thats just how it is outside the Dirty, Dirty. When I lived in New Mexico and in Virginia you had to ask for sweet tea and if they didn't have it you had to use Sweet N' Low or something like that.

haha that's like EVERY Californian's reply to people who have something they don't.

In and Out, it's quite a handy weapon of choice. Best ****ing burgers in the world.

Re: Love that Sweet Tea

buy special blended for sweet tea though, you add the sugar while its hot to make sure it desolves then just drink up.

its all we got. Animal Style Fries FTW!

fwiw, In and Out is like a 50's style burger place. not totally fast food because it takes about 5-10min to get your order, because its grilled when you order it. fries are cut fresh from potatoes right in front of you and then fried. lots of sitting room indoors and they usually have alot of tables outside. ours is home to weekend car meets, the subie guys in our area are big on teh in and out meets, sometimes theres a bunch of 50's and 60's muscle cars or hot rods meet up there, a very nostalgic feel when that happens.

Re: Love that Sweet Tea

I'm currently making some sweet tea. 7 packets of the small lipton ice tea bags, 3 and 1/2 cups of sugar. It's cooling in the fridge now, hopefully be ready and cold by dinner to try.

Bleck! I don't know how you guys can drink that stuff, I tried some of it when it was hot and that tasted pretty good, but cold sweet sugary liquid is just too much for me.
