Faster than the speed of light?

Quote:
It was supposed to be the one speed limit you cannot break.

But scientists claim to have demonstrated there is the possibility of travel faster than the speed of light.

The feat contradicts one of the key tenets of Einstein's special theory of relativity - that nothing, under any circumstances, can move faster than 186,000 miles per second, or the speed of light.

Re: Faster than the speed of light?

our whole concept of physics and math works for now... but einstein will probably be proven wrong someday...

its an interesting article... not a lot of info on the exact details of what they did and what happened tho.

Re: Faster than the speed of light?

I'm sure there are speeds incredibly faster than the speed of light, we're just not at that stage of discovering it yet.

werd.

theres also ways around going faster than the speed of light, if youre into that sort of thing. Warp Drive is actually pretty well thought out way of doing it if youre into a long read, a quick google search will bring up lots of info.

basically one day it will be done, however we are far far away from that day.

Re: Faster than the speed of light?

Re: Faster than the speed of light?

Technically, "Warp drive" () isn't faster than speed of light. You're "bending" space so while travellling slower than the speed of light, you're covering more distance.

Kind of like flying over the arctic instead of east or west to get across the world, right?

More like tunneling through the earth to get to the other side, rather than travelling on the surface.

Dude NOTHING is faster than an SRT-4. Go find Einstein's grave, it's written on his tombstone.
