Re: JESUS CHRIST!!

My AC is on it's way out. I turned it off on Friday and spent the weekend at my parents'. It was a whopping 97'F on the digital thermostat when I got home this afternoon. I cut the AC back on (since it is better than nothing) when I got home. It's still way over 80'F in here. My neighbor let me borrow a portable unit, that I put in my bedroom, and that will hopefully get me through until pops and I get the new unit installed on tuesday or thursday.

Re: JESUS CHRIST!!

It seems to me that if you invest a bit of time in getting the knowledge and some money in equipment, there can be a lot of money to be made in part time AC work. Just market yourself to people you know and grow from there. EVERYTHING for AC as far as labor is incredible.

The only thing to watch is if you're gonna do it for someone else...you need a license. Otherwise...big fines will come your way.

that'll be nice once you get the new one in. It was getting a little ridiculous in the computer room with 4 machines and 4 bodies lol

HVAC/R is quite the field to be in. My boss just left our company for a Cold Room / Freezer company (much of the same knowledge applies) and he makes double the pay. I hope he brings me along for the ride. Now not only does he have to know how these rooms are built (which he knew already) but the rest of everything associated with them (Refrigeration systems, electrical, engineering aspect, etc).

**** that, 80* or above is the weather A/C was invented for.

i dunno bout over there, but when i had my GST Spyder, i went drop top more in the wintertime than summer. It could be 45* outside, foggy, cold as **** (for cali) and i went top down, wearing two sweatshirts, gloves, heater full blast. summer? **** that, top up, a/c on full blast.

i like cold weather better than warm. my reasoning is, if its cold, you can start a fire, or wear more clothes, turn the heater on, basically theres ways to get warmer or comfortable. if its hot as **** and youre naked spread eagle in front of the A/C, and youre still ****ing hot, aint nothing gonna cool you down.

Re: JESUS CHRIST!!

I enjoy sweating, and I also enjoy the cold. So. I go top down year round as much as I can. Wintertime not so much for the sake of my passengers. But I love the heat in the summer, top down, doors off. I drove all the way to and from Destin top down, sweating the whole way. It was a blast. I can't wait till the winter time. Bundle up, and go for a cruise with the top down, that clean, cold air nipping your nose and filling your lungs. So refreshing.

Re: JESUS CHRIST!!

try living in south Louisiana 100F &99% humidity is a way of life. as far a the a/c work. yes it's good money but you don't know heat till you're crawling in a dusty attic when it's 140F in the attic. I know I do it on the side for my brother in law's company, I just did Rob's a/c

Re: JESUS CHRIST!!

yeah some reason it seems that when i drive my stang it feels like i have the heat on the floor (when i dont) and the windows dont bring in that much air when its 100* outside. the AC comes on in the explorer all the time hell the other day i had frost blowin out when a storm came in it went from 98* to 79* in about 2 hrs hahaha
