New job....

I work for the parish parks and recreation. It's the lowest position in the parish. People there I can get along with I'm talking about the other full time workers.
I'm a grass cutter. I maintain parks throughout at Charles parish. I have benefits. Retirement benifits.
Every summer this department hires part timers to work 3 months and these kids are disrespectful and don't give a rats *** what they do or who they hurt. Last year they cut my break lines and zip tied my driveshaft to my feul line as I drove it gradually ripped my entire filter an fuel line off. And they did it only bc some of thier friends dared them to. When I told my boss he didn't do anything he let them get away with it. I'm sick and tired o this job. It's about time I find something better for myself...

So I went to my collision center and asked what they could do for me. And the boss knows me bc I always go there... He's the one who did my blackedout taillights for me. And I asked him if he would hire me and he said yeah when he gets a spot open. I would be payed 10 an hour and later payed commission for body work and your basic car work... Right now I get payed 12.20$ an hour.

Idk what to do I have a huge interest working with cars it's a dream...

Re: New job....

One thing to remember is if changing jobs is always try to advance your salary also. The only time it would be worth the drop in pay is if you will be receiveing some type of official training on their dime. That will then yield more money later. If anything move laterally in pay I did that several times.

Re: New job....

if you want a new job, that will turn into a career you need to almost make that a full time job, get out there and apply to automotive based companies, its always best to look for jobs when you have one, that way you are more confident in your interviews and look more desirable to employers..dont bad mouth your current job too much while interviewing as it will make you look ungrateful, tell new prospective employers you are looking for career in something that means something to you, and that your current is more of a job than a career.... good luck!

Cutting break lines is no laughing matter bro. I would've taken legal action aswell as foot in a$& action. Anyway move into something your passionate about. Much more rewarding than doing just a job.
