Tools

Hey guys what's up? I may be going to work for a dealership as a lube guy starting out and work my way up the ladder. If I get hired I will need to invest into some decent tools. Just the basic stuff 1/4 3/8 and 1/2 drive sockets, impacts and wrenches. But what I would like to know is should I buy snap on and do it once or buy craftsman? Any mechanics on here that would chime in I'd appreciate it. My fathers always had snap on and that's all we had in our schools shop but it's not cheap. Should I spend the dough now or will I be ok with craftsman stuff. I just don't want to regret my Descision later down the road. Thanks,
Justin

All i have is snap on tools as well. Yea they are pretty pricey. If you are on a budget go for craftsman. If they break just get it replaced. Just DONT buy any made in china crap.

Wasn't planning on anything too cheap. Just currently on a budget for now. Would like to kinda upgrade to snap on as I went on

If you buy craftsman, don't let them know you use them in your profession or they may not replace them.

Re: Tools

What lube shop? When I started on at a lube shop they provided all the tools being that you didn't need much when doing the basic things that they do.

I'm going to work for a subaru and Mazda dealership. I know it's a sin to the muscle gods but hey gotta get my feet wet somewhere lol. Yeah my buddy that works for a yota dealership and told me if sears knows your a mechanic they may deny a swap out. I ended up getting the job so I may be buying a few things. I just need the basics for now. Already have an impact and some sockets and ratchets but need to get more lol.
I know buying tools is never ending but he gotta start somewhere
