You think the camaro and challenger look the same? Well I don't know about the new mustangs though. Some look really nice but some look really cheap. Too many plastic parts...

Re: Mustang or Camaro?

Well yeah I guess I could make changes. But why change something like a cheap plastic part. I'd rather put money into it that makes sense to me. But I don't know. I guess I'll take em both out for a test drive

Personally I'd stick with the mustang. Camaros are over priced in my opinion depending on what you're looking at was at the Chevy dealer the other day and they had that new convertible and they were asking 42k for it. Why would anyone pay that much for an a v6 and it wasn't even manual. They're nice cars ill give you that but 42k can get you a pretty nice mustang like the Boss. I don't know if you're spending that much money on a car but like the guy above me said you can do so many mods. Americamuscle.com offers a vast amount of products to.change all of that

Also, the Camaros have huge a-pillars that really obstruct your view. Unless u get a vert.

Re: Mustang or Camaro?

I drove 2 2011 mustang Gts and 2 2011 Camaro SS, I ended up getting the Camaro SS. However I still miss my mustang Gts S197. Mustang Gts 2011 have very nice interiors, there are not cheap or crappy looking, I was supposed to get a CS White with the carbon fiber dash. That would have my favorite, even more than the Camaro ss. After I got the Camaro and started modding the suspension I was shocked that the mods they have the Camaro SS actually handles better than the Mustang Gt, however stock the Camaro SS suspension is freaking garbage.. For lots of power with little money spent you can't beat the Mustang Gt however I saw a comparison with a 2011 GT with 635whp running 10.34 in a 1/4 , same as a heavy *** Camaro SS with the same procharger blower and same whp, weird but true. The 6.2L LS3 is a beast with a blower. Also something that people outside the Camaro SS world don't know about is that they are very sensitive to heat, and that crap called Torque Management is a real real real pain in the ***. This especially made me wish I had the Stang instead, one minute it could do a 12.6 1/4 run , the next it would do a 13.9. I freaking hate it, it is worst than traction control and if you step on the throttle too hard and create too much torque, it retards the power even more and feels like a V6 instead of a V8, also forget about doing burnouts like the Stang, since I got my Camaro SS I forgot what it is like to spin tires, Chevy engineered it so it would hook up no matter what with the real power coming on after take off. Mustang GT has a much better quality paint job, way cooler exhaust note, and wheels , hmmm. Camaro SS run 20s heavy *** crap, very hard to get lighter 19s or 18s to fit. The A pillar isn't really an issue after a couple of days, and after 11000 miles, I have never had a near crash experience, never. The manual LS3s have clutch issues, clutch sticking to the floor, the L99 automatics are bulletproof and has shift buttons on the steering wheel, and work very well after break in from new. I do however hate autos. The Mustang Gt 6m shifts very buttery smooth in my opinion.

Look at ^he roofline on the 3. Mustang looks more sleek to me. Challengers and camaros look more mucley cause of the ridges on the body. I think challengers look the nicest, but are slowest, I think new camaros are sorta ugly and ^he middle performer, and mustangs are middle for looks and beat performance. With all that being said, I'd rather have the mustang.

Yet looks a ton better than the current mustangs. What's your point?

Re: Mustang or Camaro?

Looks are objective. I like the Challenger looks wise but can't fathom buying one over a 2011 Mustang GT. Those things have Mustang looks and performance.

I just don't hate the looks of the 2011 Mustang enough for me to be driven to a Dodge.

Re: Mustang or Camaro?

Challenger did the best retro look but fail at size, the car is just big both weight wise and visually... its just to darn big.

The camaro looks ok but is a pain to drive and see out of. The Mustang is of course what most everyone on here would choose... after all this is a Mustang site.

Re: Mustang or Camaro?

for all the reasons mentioned above plus more, i would def. stick to the stang world. absolutely no doubt about it. the Mustang is the best of all worlds. performance, looks, MPG, availability of mods, the list goes on and on.

Test drive the Camaro AND the Mustang. You're buying the car and get to live with the price. I don't care for the look of the Camaro myself but that's my preference. Do what makes you happy, not what other people are happy with.

Re: Mustang or Camaro?

I got to drive my dad's 2011 Camaro RS back from North Carolina a couple of weeks ago and I second the visibility issue. If you are below 6 ft tall then it might not be too bad. After driving his Camaro I just had to get another mustang so I went out and bought a 2012 Mustang GT/CS. I paid the same if not a bit less for my 412 HP 5.0 where he got the V6 Camaro. But as Pete said, drive them both and go for whichever one you like best and at the price you want to spend. For the cost these days, its almost cheaper to buy brand new then to buy a year old used one, then its all yours! (And who knows what the previous owner did to the car, they are designed to run fast and hard!) Just my 2 cents. I like both cars a lot but am very happy with my mustang! Good luck!
