my 9 month anniversary

yup, it's been 9 months since i began my diet, i thought i would post up a before and after to motivate anyone that needs motivating around here

the first 2 pics are from christmas 06. at that time i weighed 280. complete with gut and chin rolls

the last 3 pics were taken in august, i weighed 210 then. i weigh 190 now

i went from a size 46 waist and XXXL shirt to a size 35 waist and a L shirt .. though L is a bit tight on the shoulders, might upgrade to XL when i buy for winter

Thanks South Beach Diet

Congrats man, gotta love going down in pants size. I lost my weight the easy way..the hospital diet lol. Went from a 40 waist to a 32, settled at 34 now. I weighed right at 290 and I've settled around 210 for now up from my 168 out of hospital weight.

lol, i know. too bad there's no fix for ugly :pnoid:

phase 1: 2 weeks of eating ONLY lean protein, salad type veggies, and low fat dairy. as much as you want of each, 6 times per day. i did breakfast, snack, lunch, snack, dinner, dessert

phase 2: add in carbs (whole grain bread, whole grain pasta, fruit with a glycemic index below 60) one at a time, to see what has what effect on your body. keep trying stuff while loosing weight, until you reach your goal weight. if weight loss stalls, backtrack to phase 1

phase 3: eat all the foods that you found you like whenever you want, if your pants feel tight, hit phase 1 for a week

those are the main things, but there's a lot more in the book. it fleshes out the reasons for everything too. there are good physiological reasons, it's worth a read, i can vouch for that

and yes, i do need to work out to fill and tighten some skin, but it's not terrible, since i'm still decently young

not a permanent solution, but a temporary one is more alcohol.

Nice man. I'm also about to start dieting/working out. I weigh around 275 right now and my goal is to get around 180-190 which is close to what I should weigh.

Re: my 9 month anniversary

I started a diet of lean cuisines, and taking a dietary supplement called Hot Roxx. In 2 months time I'm down 2 pant sizes (40 to 36's), and from 229 to 199. Right now I'm in a plataeu of 199-203. But yea man, congrats on your weight loss. I know the little bit I've lost is making me feel a lot better.
