I was there opening night for the third one. Probably the only decent one of the bunch in my opinion. I only went because all my asian friends wanted to go see it

Re: Fast and the Furious 4 Green Lighted!

I actually thought the first one was pretty entertaining even if it is stupid.

We all learned the phrase, "Nos," and about Motec exhausts, and living your live a 1/4 mile at a time for 10 seconds or less, and stuff like that.

Hmm....should be interesting. I know i'll end up watching it, but will I pay to see it? Not likely unless it seems half decent. With the return of diesel and walker i'm wondering how the story will go.

i hope they can bring in everyone from FnF1 and tie up what happens afterwards. Id like to know if Dom hates Spilner for breaking up his family or maybe Dom realized somehow Spilner ****ing everything up helped him see the light.

dunno if anyone remembers but at the end of the credits in #1 you see dominick driving a red chevelle through Baja, obviously pawned off the supra in mexico for it. maybe Dom goes after Spilner which leads him to tokyo (end of Tokyo Drift) or something.

if theyre dumb enough to go.

F&F:TD we had cops going around the parking garage citing people for various things (IE no front plates, tint, etc). they had squad cars on each of the exits popping honduh's and whatnot as they exited and reffing for modifications.

Re: Fast and the Furious 4 Green Lighted!

Walker has also had recent troubles on the big screen. He scored a family hit with "Eight Below" and had a small role in the disappointing "Flags of Our Fathers," but both "Running Scared" and "Into the Blue" were major disappointments.
That was the link said. Now i saw Running Scared, and i thought it was a good movie. why all the hate on Paul Walker?

because according to most, if the movie doesnt gross more than 100mil, its a failure.

Considering most movies take more than a 100mil to make, not making a 100mil pretty much equals in the hole.

so they are actual cops there, that, you know, serve and protect more than they just enhance the states revenue?

Dont' get your hopes up... we have already figured out via the first three that they only care about profit so dont expect anything good from the movie... they see dollar signs not good entertainment.

Don't get me wrong, they still do alot of revenue enhancement... Just not usually for tint and never for front plates (we don't have them) or illegal modifications.

Re: Fast and the Furious 4 Green Lighted!

state troopers generally care far more than local cops. Local cops usually dont give a crap unless you are being an A-Hole (or they are having a bad day) on small things like no cats, tinted windows, etc.

I don't know man, the last one wasn't all that fun as there wasn't much out that night. Although, we did get to chat with that cop for about an hour and the roush owner for a bit. So, I guess that was one good thing that came of it.

The whole FandF crap is EXTREMELY detestable to me. NOTHING good has come of it. Nothing. Thomas will probably list something and still be wrong because it was still no good.

why should anything, good or bad, have to come from a simple movie?

sit your *** down, watch it. dont focus on how "factual" the modifications called out in the movie are, dont point at all the bloopers (though sometimes its really obvious, nobody races with their ebrake up, cmon). hell, the acting doesnt even have to be that great (we all thought "300" is/was the best movie of 07, it has really nothing short of daytime soap status as far as acting goes).

for some, a good movie makes you forget about your entire life, and from the moment the previews roll to the credits, you are part of someone elses. to me, i feel alot of people focused on the wrong part of FnF1, i realized its not about cars, speed, respect, etc. the movie is based on one mans choice in life, between his real life (a undercover cop) and a life he could have led, his struggle between choosing his real family and the one he never had, in the end, he chose to lead the life he never did, threw his entire career away to protect the one man that showed him the life he always wanted to lead.

Re: Fast and the Furious 4 Green Lighted!

Oddly enough, I agree with Thomas again, what is this world coming to?

Sure, all the F&F movies had bad acting, some ridiculous car, and just plain stupid plots...BUT they made no attempts to be very realistic either...I actually liked all 3 movies because of their lack of realism...I can't stand it when movies try to straddle the line between fact and fiction or real and fantasy...If you are going to make a movie stupid and the stunts ridiculous, go all out, not halfway...which to me, the FnF movies did...the stunts, the racing, the acting was all ridiculously ghey, but I liked them to be honest...

and the only reason I think that people don't like them is because of the stupid fantasy "ricer" league that spawned as a result...where people between the ages of like 10 and 22 got this crazy idea that it was common to put a plastic body kit, 8 foot wing, and paint the 1.6L honda or whatever other japanese car it might be like a bright friggin skittle with goofy decals all over it and that it would make it some super fast vehicle, IF and only IF you put a 300+ shot of NOS on it...

I gave that movie about 1.5 stars over all. It was good to kill some time one night, but it is definitely a one watch wonder. I don't think I could watch it again...Not because of the acting, but because of the movie as a whole.
