I've started messing around with brewing hard cider. It's an experiment, but I'm interested in how it turns out.

Buying five gallons of cider, at the Wal Mart:

I poured some of the cider in a pot, brought it to a boil, threw in a pack of cinammon sticks, and dissolved in three pounds of honey:

Proofing my yeast. I used two packs of Lalvin K1V-1116:

I poured the boiled cider, cinammon sticks, and honey in my fermenter with the unadultered four gallons. Poured my proofed yeast in on top of it, put the top on, and let it go. The air-lock is bubbling nicely, now. Should be 10-14 days before it stops. Then I'm going to prime it, bottle it, and let it sit for a couple of weeks. I'm hoping that carbonates.

Anybody else mess around with brewing wine/beer at home?

I like turtles.
