Plasti Dip! Love the stuff! Just did my rims.
Going to look great once I re-tint my taillights, take off the Mustang emblems and lower it

I have the exact same rims on my 03. Just a quick question though... did you "paint" the middle cover that goes over the lug nuts too? I think it would look weird if we didn't but I'm just wondering

I plasti dipped em as well, just make sure there 100% dry before installing them. All you have to do for prep is clean the rims, till there spotless, clean as you can get em. I wiped mine with alcohol before paint, so it would clean the oils and such. Then taped off the tires, people say you don't have to but I did anyways. Started on the back side and painted. When you paint them it looks splotchy as hell, but thin coats, and letting them dry before another coat is definitely recommended. Paint just like you would with spray paint, and once your done don't forget to score the tape off with a razor! If you don't, you'll peel off the paint with the tape. Finished product looks great, it's definitely changed the way I've looked at my car. Gives me a direction to go with the whole scheme.

Before you do the whole top I'd try a smaller area. It may bond better to a fabric then to a smooth metal. You could end up with a real mess.

Re: wats plastic dip???

My spoiler is plasti-dipped as well. Honestly, painting with this stuff takes not skill at all. And it's easy to just take it off if you don't like it.

Alright people. So I gave it a try. I sprayed my soft top with plasti spray and I can honestly say, don't do it. It does come out blacker but it looks all shiny, so its up to u guys.

Was just curious if It would bond different to a soft top. Have you open and closed the top? Seems like it cover any small leaks, maybe help keep the inside cool in summer w/ AC, and warm in winter.

Yeah I've opened it and closed it. Didn't look that bad. Im assuming it will make it a bit water proof, not a bad thing if ur already looking to replace your top.

Cool you should start a thread about the whole process you went through, you might be able to help some people out if its going to hold. Post some pics too, could buy ppl some time before actually replacing it!

My question is whether plasi-dip does anything to affect paint? Like if I plasti-dip my rear valance and tail panel is it going to eat or dull the clearcoat if I decide to remove it?

From wat I've seen and heard. Plasti dip is safe. But if u want to be 100% shure just buy a can and call the manufacturer and see wat they say.
