Opinions on a possible trade

I know this is a mustang forum but I wanted to ask yalls opinion. I have a 2004 GTO ls1 6 speed that's pretty much stock with 44,xxx mile and I have a guy wanting to trade me a 2005 evo with a pretty good bit of mods making 389 hp and right over 400 tq at the wheels with 110,xxx mile. What do y'all think??

Honestly, I'd keep the gto... That evo has probable been beaten on and abused... Also, that's a lot of miles too.

Yea the miles was kinda the only thing holding me up, it looks like a super nice car tho and it actually blue books for around 3,000 more dollars than the GTO and the evo has head studs, new timing belt and water pump, upgraded turbo and intercooler, 3 inch exhaust and alot more

It sounds like a good car but he probably beat on it a lot and my guess is that something is gonna go soon if he wants to trade for a stock GTO

You'd be foolish to trade.. Foolish is not a word I use loosely.. Just my opinion.

Thanks for the opinions guys, that's why I asked because I have a tendency to make rushed decisions and kinda regret it afterwards, I have just kinda always wanted to play with a evo and saw that it blue booked worth more than my car. So it had my mind going. Just outta curiosity why is everyone agains the evo I figured I would get mixed opinions?

If your car was worth more than the other would you really want to trade up even like that??.... My gut feeling is that there is some thing up with that EVO!...

Too many miles, and in the end it's just a pos Mitsubishi that lacks overall quality IMO. If you would really like one my advise would be to trade at a dealer for a brand new one with no mods. That way you do not trade your GTO for another guys problem child. Again just my opinion bud.

It's not often that a guy would trade his highly modified car with tons of money into it for a bone stock car unless something major was gonna go wrong very soon.

Yea I know I actually asked him why he would wanna trade the car he had all his time and money in. He didn't build the car he sold his ls1 camaro and just want back in a ls1 car so he says. He's not to far from where I live so I was gonna ride up and check it out in person, figured it can't hurt anything to take a look at it ya know.

Re: Opinions on a possible trade

the only reason your car books for less is bc pontiac took a sh*t... your car in all aspects is worth more in my opinion.

Keep the GTO. That EVO has probably been beaten up and there is no replacement for displacement lol. Seriously though, the AWD might be nice, but I think you could do a lot more with the GTO. I have a few friends making good power on theirs.

You're welcome the Camaro is also based off the monaro/gto... That's why it's so freakin heavy. And that's what you get for watching every episode of top gear since '02 on netflix

When you're talking to a lady friend, and you say i drive an evo, i bet she ask's "what's that?"

Tell the same lady friend you drive a GTO, i bet she asks, "what your number."

Jusr sayin.
