DSLR's

Ok.... I am done with point and shoot digital cameras. Tired of deleting 85% of the pics because of blur , or late shutter, or no option for ISO adjustment, or under the Macro setting it looks like I am capturing twilight. I have been looking at some entry level DSLRS but I want some first hand experience. I am looking at the Sony Nex 5n (Not a real DSLR I know) Canon Rebel Eos T3i, or the Nikon D3100. Please let me know your own experiences with these. Or if you can point out another camera you do have experience with.

I use a Nikon D40 at the moment which is an entry level DSLR but a great camera.
Took these at SEMA of Vaughn drifting with the lens it came with. I can't wait to get another lens.

Re: DSLR's

I have a Rebel T1i with a sigma 18/55 lens

its a good beginner DSLR does good pics overall for the camera. The most important part of it is learning it and learning how to shoot and what settings (shoot on manual mode etc)

Digital cameras, all other cameras and everything photographic from Adorama Camera is where i ordered my stuff. I got the camera body and purchased my own lens and it worked out better for me that way.

total investment was 700 or so~ (200 for lens 500 for camera body (no lens) and I paid liek 40 for a carry case and 4gb card.

Shoots 1080p vid as well~

you will have to pick up a UV filter etc but those are not costly really. Click my photo album and the newest ones were taken with it and touched up a bit in an editor.

these are shrunk down but you can see good detail as to what the full size shows

getting the light right is the number 1 thing that seems to be an issue in taking good pics.

I just got a Canon Rebel T3i and I'm loving it. My mother in law has the T3 which is a little cheaper. Both are good cameras and I haven't noticed much of a difference between the two.

+1 to what SpectorV said. It's important to learn how the different settings work.
