If your referring to the middle east, then I've got news for you, 50% of all the gas North America uses comes from there. The rest from Canada.

Not sure what's worse, using Sunoco or
BP. BP which caused one of, if not the biggest environmental disasters of the century. Take your pick I guess

+1. Don't go down that road.

I like using Shell and BP, but I have used others on occasion.

Yep. I use high quality large companies. They have stricter guidelines on how they store their fuel and with the more fuel they sell, the more their tanks have to be cleaned. But that's just me.

Yeah, I try to stick to larger, well-known companies. I've heard stories of people getting bad gas from smaller, local gas stations.

BP, Shell, or Southern States.
I like southern states because it's 100% gas, zero ethanol.

we've got two stations around here that have 100% gas, and they are genrally about the same price as everywhere else. maybe 4-5 cents more, but I think it's worth it.

Re: whats your preferred gas station?

Could be just where I live, BUT... In Watertown, South Dakota I see the exact same tanker truck refilling EVERY gas station in town whether it's Shell, Conoco, Exxon, Mobil, Tesoro, and even the mom and pop stations........... I can't remember the name of the trucking company though.

I think this goes a long ways towards explaining why every station in town charges the exact same price for each grade of gasoline, and also why prices change by the same amount at the same time.

Currently 87 octane (non-ethanol) is $3.19/gallon everywhere in town 1/30/11.

That is true for most places!.. But the real question is!.. What additives do the individual stations add to their gas??.... Some add nothing and some add various different things!.. In some places they can even add a certain amount of water to your gas!..

What you're seeing is a third party carrier. I used to work for one. We did all the stations. Additives are added at the refinery when the truck driver loads his/her trailer. If you see a brand name at the gas station, like: Shell, Exxon, Valero, Citgo, Chevron their additives are regulated to that brands formula. Down here in South Texas all of the fuel has a 10% Ethanol mix. Is that common where you are from? I've always wondered...

Weather it's the gas or not that's pretty dang good to me. But in my vehicle I usually go to racetrack.. Bc they have like 20 pumps an you never have to wait

Hey I checked out the pics of your car. In one of the photos it looks like you have the rear 3/4 removed and the inside of it looks like it was replaced with fiber glass. It all looks like the well has been widened about 6"-8". Is that correct or are do my eyes need to be checked?

Holy **** gas is cheap down there. We were up to 1.30 a litre here in the summer and that's stupid (like 5.10 a gallon) right now the shell is 101.9 a litre and costco is 93.9 so you can figure out where I buy gas from. Shell also marks premium up by 10c/litre and costco only 6c/litre. So for 99.9 vs 111.9 its a pretty easy choice.

Your eyes need to be checked the 1/4 panel is off, I have to new one but I'm not pitting it on till the car is on the ground. An nothing is fiberglassed that I'm aware of.... I'll be posting some more pics shortly....

I live 2 miles from an ethanol plant, and yes it is common for some stations to have 10% ethanol in every grade of fuel. It is uncommon to find a station that carries straight pure 91-93 octane premium. It is very rare to find a station that carries straight 87 or 89 octane gas.

E-85 is less than $2.00 a gallon here.

I, as well as my entire family and most of my friends refuse to use any ethanol blended gasoline. (Except when I use 95 octane E-30 with my tuner set on Race).

The cost per gallon saved doesn't make up for the decrease in economy. My 97 blazer gets 17 mpg hwy with 10% ethanol, and gets 20-21 mpg hwy on straight gas. 25% decrease in economy vs. 3% decrease in cost per gallon.

If they want me to use ethanol they need to make it a financially responsible decision by making it really cheap before they worry about whether or not it is an environmentally responsible decision. I can't afford to be Green.

Re: whats your preferred gas station?

I usually stick to the Brand Shops too...Ford "recommends BP" in my F150, but I'm not too happy with some of their recent business/PR decisions so I tend to lean towards Kwik Trip and Shell.

I wish they had some stations with 100% 87 octane...everything's 10% ethanol. A couple stations offer 100% 91, but I don't tune either vehicle so there's no point in running a higher octane.

For the 93 DD usually Costco as they're the cheapest. For the SVO I goto a brand like Shell for 93, or 94 if they have it.
