The effect of the writers strike

Not only are all our awesome tv shows in jeopardy but many people not even involved in the strike have lost their jobs.

Me thinks Unions are gay

Re: The effect of the writers strike

Unions, in theory, are a decent idea, however, the way that they are executed and run, terrible. I am really upset with this strike bull crap.

Re: The effect of the writers strike

I talked to a producer on Days of Our Lives and he told me how going on strike right now was kind of pointless. He told me how during around the end of the year all the writers go on hiatus anyway.

I told him how I can agree with why the writers are on strike and he told me the writers get paid a crap load already and are just being greedy along with some other bits of the industry.

So yeah, writers do deserve a lot because it was their creations, but once you give up and sell your idea.. it's sort of a done deal ya know? It's then everyone else's hard work to get it out there and hype everything up. Without it you got a book, and the majority of people would rather watch a movie or a show than read a book.

Unions most certainly at one time were good and needed...but not since 30+ years ago. Just ask GM.
