Didn't the guy who invented the mustang work for gm, then in the early 60s he left and started working at ford? I think he like pitched the idea to gm and they didn't like it or prototype wasn't successful. Something like that I think

Re: the real manufacture who invented the mustang!

At what hotel did they hold their secret design meetings?

What was the first name designated for the project?

...and you think you know Mustang history...

LOL.

The hotel is commonly known and still popular. The Fairmont Inn. They had to have design meetings there to keep Mr. Ford from catching onto the plan. It never would have been made if Mr. Ford caught on.

Ford didn't see an actual market for a car like the Mustang!... It took a lot of work from Lee to get the Mustang into production!.. He is the one that saw a big market potential for it!.. And ultimately if it wasn't for him we wouldn't have the Mustang today!..

Thanks Lee!!... I love my Mustang!..

Any one on here know the real reason Ford built the GT40?....

Because ford was going to buy ferriri (sry cant spell) and enzo backed out after ford built some factory or something as part of the deal so henry ford the 3rd said "screw u ill beat u at ur own race then" and set out with a chip on his shoulder to stomp good old enzo (quit successfully i might add) into the ground.

Your pretty dead on!... Ford was going to pull Ferrari out of Indy car racing (Ford didn't want any internal competition) after the Buy Out!... Enzo didn't like that and pulled out of the deal!...

Then Ford thought Enzo what...
F-First
O-On
R-Race
D-Day. Really means!!....

Or at least that's what I read!...

Ya that was cause the owner of lambo bought a ferrire and kept having clutch problems he brout his complaint to enzo and was told "what do u know about how a clutch is sapoed to work in a car u make tractors stick to that" (more or less) and he got all
Pissed off and said the same thing as ford "screw u enzo ill show u how to make a clutch and a car whil im at it" give or take some of the details lol!
