ATI's New Video Cards Out

[H] Enthusiast - ATI Radeon HD 3800 Series

Look real good... and the price is amazing... might have to do a Crossfire setup

Quote:
Quad-GPU support from ATI is finally a reality with ATI CrossFireX technology. This new technology allows multiple GPU scaling with overclocking and new display modes. Quad-GPU support will be allowed on AMD’s 790FX chipset, and as you can see in the picture is accomplished using the CrossFire bridge connectors in the configuration you see above. This means there will also be support for a triple-GPU configuration as well.

Re: ATI's New Video Cards Out

I know. I plan on buying a new MB after Christmas. Will have to see how the Gefore9 compares in price.... 219 for 8800GT speed isn't bad at all.

Re: ATI's New Video Cards Out

I don't see nVidia coming out with another card at the "budget" price point. Even though it looks like the only people who are going to get 8800GT's at a budget price are the people who bought it immediately. I've seen them up in the $330 range online, recently. Newegg doesn't have any, at all...

Re: ATI's New Video Cards Out

Yea I have given up on those. 330 bucks is crazy if I can grab two 3870's for 440. What I'll do is have the Monitor paid off by Christmas and throw two videos cards, motherboard and a better processor on the Newegg Preferred account and pay that off in 6 months lol.

I think ATI has finally got their stuff together. If they keep offering this type of performance for this price they will kill nVidia. Time will tell though. AMD has a lot on their plate.

lol you wanna know?

AMD is releasing a Tri-Core system and they are going to price it pretty cheap to gain sales.

Why Tri-Core processors?

In production, every quad core processor AMD made (About 1 out of 4 that was made), one of the processors of the 4 on the chip would burn out. Making it a Tri-Core.

Pretty crappy huh?

Re: ATI's New Video Cards Out

I saw another thread on [H] where people had linked to e-tailers listing 8800GT's over $400! Price gouging on the 8800GT's is out of hand. Demand has apparently outstripped demand by a hefty margin. If you can get that ATI card for less than $250 a pop, they're really starting to look like a better deal than the GTs. I'm glad I didn't dick around and put off buying mine...
