It's about the service they provide. Better service warrants better tips. You should tip according to service. If you don't tip and you are a repeat customer and you start getting ****ty service.... Don't blame them lol

Exactly my point..I don't see why someone should get paid from 13.79-27.79 an hour for doing something that ANYONE can do & takes pretty much no skills! No offense to u I'm just saying!

parking cars can be pretty difficult at times... Like when you work by yourself and have to park 40+ cars, and at the same time bring people's cars back (who are at this point mad and not gonna tip)

So wouldn't it be better of there weren't any tips & u got paid a hourly wage higher than 1-2$?

I agree with that 100%! & when I get awesome service I do tip big but now a days people expect 15%-20% just for bring out ur food to the table & refilling ur cup of water with a sour *** face! A tip should be earned not required & it just feels like it's required for little to effort now!

Do you know how to play the quarter game with them? Bring about $10-15 in quarters and put it in the middle of the table... and every time they fck up take out a quarter. At the end whatever is left is their tip.

If I see laziness, hostility. I don't tip, and you bet I will certainly comment on your lack of doing your job.
In a way- do a good job. You get a real good tip. Do bad job, I'll tip you real bad, yet a useful advice so that maybe next people you serve will pay you a good tip.

For those don't think I tip well. Short story- hot girl, very affectionate, and got all my food right. Made sure my drink's filled up without me even waving at her. Tipped her $100.

It's definitely earned and not required in my book. If I get shiity service, even I ain't tipping. But if they do a great job, I treat them good. Especially if it's a regular spot for me. You get great service if you are a repeat customer and you tip, trust me lol

I have mixed thoughts on this, MAINLY because food service workers rely on tips. It's not really s tip. It's Gratuity. It shows appreciation for service. Annnnd as stated above, that pretty much makes up their pay. But, if a server does not make up the equivalent of minimum wage including their tip income, the employer is required by law ( at least here) to pay them AT LEAST minimum.

However. Your point of waitresses expecting a $5 tip for a cup of coffee is completely on point. Some waitresses think they work at hooters, and you're paying to look, when in reality, their cottage cheese thighs have passed the expiration date, if you catch my drift. I had a teenage co-worker complain about her only getting " 5 or 6 bucks on a tip." Then when asked how much the bill was, "oh only 10 bucks." That pisses me off to no end.

I do it the opposite way! Every time they fill my cup before I ask them to the tip will go up & etc. I feel it should be earned with good service not taken away if they fck up! Mediocre service to me should get tips IMO!

If they apologize for the bad service I feel they should be tipped a little bit, but if they are intentionally rude, no tip at all

Just my thoughts tho

I guess that's u but I don't think an apology would make me tip bad service..they can just be happy with the small tips & give poop service to everyone & then just apologize! That's just me tho..
