It was there the day we came to work out the last bits of the deal, would have gotten it too, if only I knew how to drive stick... I tried to tell my dad he could drive it home and then teach me, but he didn't want me learning stick on a new car.

I wouldn't let my 17 year old kid get a Boss, period. It's a classic in the wrong hands.

I wouldn't either ... 1) my kid/kids will not have a nicer car than me 2 ) I'd be buying that boss for myself and not my kid

More than likely those little brats will have to buy their own first car .. That way they can treat their own money like crap and not mine lol kidding, .... Not really

My first car was a 1966 Mustang Coupe with more parts in it than on it. It took 2 yrs. to do all the bodywork, paint it, and rebuild the engine. A great learning experience that not many people get to enjoy. I am thankful that my parents didn't just buy me a car and hand me the keys.

First car I will buy for my kids, will be a vehicle with some miles on it and nothing fancy, but it will be reliable, either a decent truck or a sedan. I made my fair share of mistakes with my '94 Camry, but that's part of learning how to drive and using a car in high school and college. After that they're on their own unless something catastrophic happens that isn't their fault. I remember a buddy of mine in college was parked outside his apartment and a giant block of ice fell off the roof and landed on his car totaling it.

I have no jealousy towards young kids with nice cars, but I wouldn't get one for one of mine.

my buddy got a 2012 35th anniversary camaro for his first car.wrapped it around a telephone pole a month later

my first was an 95 acura integra. we originally bought it to junk it but found out that it ran just fine so we cleaned it up. $200 car and was just as reliable as anything else on the road.

Exactly! I probably will do this as well.. I was only kidding about them having to do it completely on their own. I completely feel the same way .. Lots of miles but reliable and nothing fancy .. If parents can afford to give their kids nice things that's perfectly ok with me .. It just will not be my choice as far as a car
