I'm guessing. No invite to the new party they created and no response from anyone.

What Grinds Your Gears?

Basically they cancelled the Fourth of July party at my house because of a post I made on Facebook. A few of them found it "offensive."

Parents saying that it's my money, and I can mod the car, but then when I say what I'll get, they say concentrate on the exterior of the car instead, and you can't get anything right now... WTF?!?

That's when you just go and do what you want. A body kit isn't gonna make the car go faster, or sound meaner.

Exactly. They are under the delusional view that Ford builds that absolute best car they can. Partially right, they build the best they can, at that price. They refuse to believe that.

Basically all appearance. RTR wheels and exhaust, tinted taillights and 3rd brake light coyote emblem, RTR exhaust(all these have been installed) and SHR flush mounted louvers waiting for install. Wanting to get a Bob's firewall catch can and FRPP tune next. Not happening...

I have the UPR oil catch can, a little pricey but it's VERY well made and looks nice. I opted for the stainless version.....fits in good.

I have the RTR street axleback. Any time I mention performance mods, parents freak and immediately say no. Even the FRPP tune, which is Ford and carries a warranty if the tune is at fault (no engines have ever blown on that tune). They also think the catch cans are way too high priced...

A catch can is just smart. Hmm save my 9000.00 engine from getting oil pumped back into the intake for less than 200 bucks? Yeah I think that's fair.

Exactly, and they think the oil blow by isn't anything bad because "Ford would have put a can in it if was"

Hopefully UPR is at the AM show and has the firewall mounted can at the show. I'd immediately buy it and install it there.

It's not bad enough to hurt while its under warranty, but what do they care in 10 years over 100k? They want you to buy a new one. Duh.

Give a **** what I do. As long as I stay out of trouble. I haven't moved out yet because the coal mining industry isn't doing very good right now and that's what I've done since I was 19. So I'm modding, saving for a house, while my fiancé finishes college.

I'm going to try for a job at the local Ford dealer for now, and obviously I'm looking for internships in my degree field.

They are so worried about warranty it's insane. I guess I understand that, but really? I CC isn't voiding any warranty, and the tune I want cones with a warranty if anything ever happens. Which no engines have ever popped with that tune.

I agree but until you are paying for the car and everything that goes along with it, you are just lucky to have it. They get to say. They pay quite a bit to have that luxury.

Why did you buy the cams, if they won't let you touch anything that applies to voiding the warranty?

Work hard, pay it off then mod it as much as you want after. 19 and having a car like that is luxury for sure. Not many can say that

The cams because they let me, since the CJ cams are discontinued, and that I'd put them in after the warranty is over. Maybe I can get away with Steeda Suspension parts, since they have a lifetime warranty, even though it's rare that suspension pieces have problems in the first place. Heck, the reason I mentioned the FRPP tune in the first place is because it comes with a warranty.

So doing a $300-600 mid pipe with a tune wouldn't hurt ya. I bought it on my discover card with 0% interest. Use someone else's money to buy something. And will help build credit

Neither would the catch can, which would actually help, and the FRPP tune, which adds a lot of low end torque, better throttle response, and a little better downshifting for an auto. All they hear is potential problems. Even though NO problems have happened with that tune.

What Grinds Your Gears?

My mom is like that. If she sees that a product has one negative feedback in 100. It's bad, and you can't convince her otherwise. So, I buy it then tell her about it after its installed. Dad couldn't care less. He knows most of the policemen in town. I couldn't change lanes on a road without him knowing about it.
He knew about my speeding ticket even before I got done with the cop.

Only the rocks last forever.
