I went to KCIR last time in the late 70s, lol. Was sad to hear it was gone

Ah, KCIR. That hits close to home. I used to go watch my stepfather's buddy run his 2004 Cobra there. It was such a waste removing that track, especially now with Heartland Park in Topeka all messed up money wise. Such a bummer. Kansas needs to get their racetrack issues situated!

I agree man I used to live in Raytown and could hear them racing out there. Was such a blast to just go and watch.

Matter of fact here is my best time slip there in my '03 Mach 1, had in my desk at work.

Over 6 years ago, I was pumped to be under 14 my first time lol.

That's awesome! It never failed to be a good time, that's for sure! KC is missing out not having it around anymore

I meant a road course not a drag strip. But one can argue that the same rules apply. Plus in basically in most cases a drag strip is louder than a road course. Sorry to hear about the closing of the strip. I bet that pissed a huge number of people off when it closed.

Door mirror for my Challenger is still on back order. Should've arrived a few days before Christmas. That arrival time was on a 60 day back order. Now who knows when it'll arrive.

Ah, good ol KCIR. I personally never went, but wanted to plenty of times to watch (wasn't worth taking my 00 v6 to the strip). I know many people who were, and still are pissed about it being shut down. Kc had a huge plan for it to become a nice park. Nothing has been done to it, just a field with most of the track still there, crumbling apart.

What ground my gears today was having to put on a jacket because it was cold in Central Florida: 46 degrees this morning. The weatherperson says another cold front is heading our way this weekend. Yuk!

I have a feeling the proof was insert company name said this CAI increases horsepower by 28-40hp, therefore add that to the RWHP that I've seen on a stock dyno run and add those together. Boom, my car has 412 horsepower to the rear wheels. I have a CAI, but know there is no chance it's giving me the power bump K&N says it does. But oh do I love that sound.

Supposedly a dyno tune and "exhaust."

So essentially no proof that a cold air intake alone truly has any power benefit. I think they missed your point.

Lmao, every single time I request this of someone including sales reps I get back the same thing. Only thing I get is people swearing that its "smoother" or their butt dyno measured a difference.

I mean, I completely love the sound mine makes, and it does look good under the hood, but come on...20 additional horsepower to the wheels with one? No way. And I definitely wouldn't call them smoother.

I remember talking to my shop teacher back in high school who tracked Porsches and previously worked for BMW, and he said unless you have forced induction, spend the money elsewhere. It's just not a big power changer like they are marketed as.

I know. It completely went over their heads. Once I saw the dynos and after explaining what I was wanting, I just stopped responding to them.

So from what I gather, tune plus stock Cai was 386hp, then tune plus JLT cai was 392. Then they adjusted the tune and crap to get 412. They are still claiming the 412 is from the CAI.

Alright, so if I'm following this correctly, we first start with everything stock on the dyno and run 386. We then install a CAI and bumps the horsepower up to 392, a gain of only 6 horsepower with a stock tune. Then from there we starting messing with tunes, end up with 412 horsepower, and give the credit to the CAI, not the fact that as we change our tuning the power is increasing.

If only I had the patience and access to a dyno, it would be so easy for me to test this. I've got the stock airbox, my CAI, and tuner, and the only modifications power wise on my car are those two. It would be plain as day what increases what.

I am impressed by the effort here, I'm actually surprised you made it that far with them!

Yeah. Seems like to me they are crediting everything due to the cai, not the tune.
