Insurance company I'm going through.. first I paid for 6 months.. couple weeks later they said they screwed up, needed $200 more. It was originally pretty cheap so I sent it. Almost 6 months later I never get anything in the mail. I show up to pay 6 more and they say your insurance is about to go out. "You didn't pay last month, we need last month, this month and next months to start it back up" my dad has the same insurance and has been getting the same crap as well.

Insurance is a rip-off scam.
You pay them, & they MIGHT give it back to you when you need it?
WTF is that?!
The money you waste on insurance can be used to make payments on a new extra vehicle!!

Wait to see how much it will cost you (waste) for NOT carrying insurance! And then get into an accident...

buddy from work showed up with a shiny new p/up. I went out to scope it out but just out of politeness since it was raining. When I came back in I asked "was it a demo?" he said "no, why?"
I mentioned how it had a lot of bondo on it and how you could tell by how the water was beading up on it. He spent 20 minutes outside in the rain before he realized I was messing with him.

What grinds my gears is people wanting to ruin your nice stuff because they can't afford any. Last night driving down the busiest street in my town (small town with only about 10,000 people, that is also a low income/poverty rural town) and some beat up about 2002 chevy impala throws a beer out the window onto my car. Wasn't able to turn around to catch them but now I have a car that wreaks of beer (windows were down) and a couple paint chips from the can.

That's horrible! There are many people in this world who do not understand what our cars mean to us. I'd be absolutely furious. You should have filed a report if there was actual damage.

People suck sometimes, sorry to hear that.

Yet another police officer shot and killed today. Ridiculous.

My work is making us wear t-shirts until further notice (I'm a paramedic), until all of this dies down. They don't want us mistaken for police, pretty sad.

That is complete and utter BS. I'm sick of the war against the police. I'm pretty sure that police lives matter as much as everyone else. The last time I checked police officers were humans with families.

Color doesn't matter. If you are a threat to anyone, including an officer, that person has the right to defend themself until the threat is removed.

Wasn't there a shooting in Missouri today? It's a tough/sketchy time to be a cop, makes me glad I live in a very low population area. I don't think anything like that will happen here, at least I hope not.

It was in KCK. The officer was responding to a drive by shooting. Dude drive off and he eventually shot the officer. Bad time for KCK, they had another officer killed two months ago.

Totally agree, and support the many officers that perform their duties to protect and serve.

On the flip side though, there have been many that have abused their rank. Those police who beat and shoot for no apparent reason are what's causing this horrific attack against those who perform their jobs respectfully. I hope these officers see what they have done, and perhaps seek help/training in anger management, or seek another job. They are the ones causing their "brothers" to be killed, which is of course wrong. They know who they are.

This grinds my gears.

There are a lot of precincts that leave a vest to the officer's disgression. Then you have cheap vests, decent vests, and vests that might actually stop a handgun's bullet. A 9mm, .40, .45, 357, and 44 mag can all be stopped with a vest, especially if the slug is a hollow point.

However, a vest is not much help against a rifle. I don't care if it is a 5.56, 243, 308, 30.06, 270, or other caliber. The velocity a rifle round has will punch through ceramic and Kevlar. I would rather have something vs nothing though.

I enjoy shooting sports, including archery. I can promise you that an arrow within 50 yards from a modern compound bow can punch through a vest. Kinetic energy is an amazing thing.

With that very dangerous knowledge, it is left to the individual officer many times as to whether or not they want to sweat it out in a heavy, restrictive vest.

Our military vests with plates are rated to stop 7.62 at non point blank ranges, so I assume 30-50 or so meters?

Even with the additional weight, I don't see how those with a choice wouldn't wear one. Everybody is different though.

Vests can perhaps protect the police (a good thing), but what about those who are shot by a strung out officer?
Again, the majority of officers out there protecting our streets from crime are doing an excellent (and well appretiated) job. The few that are going astray however are a major cause of the rioting, and getting innocent officers killed. I'd like to see something done to get them some help.

It grinds my gears to see both innocent officers and people pulled over shot for no apparent reason.
