What's with rain gutter installers? Been trying all summer to find an installer to give us a quote and do the work. Are they all flakes? Fourth one in a row now says" Oh, you bet we can. Let me pencil some numbers and I'll get right back to ya". Three or so calls back to the men and we get the same results. No call backs, nothin, nada, zip. What the hey?

I'm so happy for cooler weather.... At least I don't live up north, in Canada for example lol. Cooler is great, Arctic is totally different.

Actually, the cold isn't bad, it's the wind that bites!
...i tell my dad we should move to hawaii, & he says "why do you want to live on a big rock for?? you might as well go live on Alcatraz!"
...i guess we aren't moving...
i have been lucky to get to travel all over North America playing sports, but i don't know where i would pick to live...

one year, the snow in our front yard was 5', & the next year, barely 5".
crazyness

I was helping my dad clean the front yard, & i was raking the dead leaves out of the hedges, & on the neighbor's driveway (maybe 6" of drive had leaves, basically just a few leaves) (where the hedges are, & she comes out & is all "You're gonna clean that up, right?!" i'm like, "uh yeah, when i'm finished. i don't leave a big mess all over the neighborhood like your kids do!"

I have a neighbor that blows his leaves and grass clippings out to the street. I wait until he's in the house, and blow it all back to his yard and driveway.

New neighbors "renting" the house next to mine because the previous neighbors got divorced and neither could afford the house by themselves. Back yard wasn't mowed for at least a month and got to around 3-4' high. New guy mows yard (takes him about 2 hours since his mower keep dying), and fills our shadowbox fence with 4-5" of grass clippings. I went out right after he finished and blew all the grass back into his yard through the fence. I already have to spray for weeds, and trim his unruly bushes that grow through my fence from his side .... I know, I know FWP, but I try to keep our house/yard looking nice.....

If it was me I would just kill the bushes after the first time asking.

What Grinds Your Gears?

"Customer" complaining about their vehicle being at the shop for two weeks. In their defense they had an appointment but said no hurry. Now they're raising hell about it not being fixed after we talked about the repair. We said we would do it for 850.00 job should be 1,600.00. This person uses us as in we find out the problem then they take it to another shop to get fixed. " Because we're too high." So, when everyone else can't fix it they bring it to us. Plus, they try to low ball is every damn time. Then ask if they can supply the part (we don't install customer parts). People that want work, but want to pay nothing grinds my gears.

I used to race with a guy that owned a small peformance shop. His prices were high, but you could be certain that the issue would be taken care of, and he personally guaranteed his work. He had a few people have him diagnose difficult problems only for them to go somewhere else.

No problem, pay the man for his time and knowledge. Unfortunately when the secondary mechanic ran into a problem larger than they could handle my friend was turned to again. At that point the customer would try to low ball the price instead of acknowledging that they would have paid less in the beginning if the vehicle had been left at his shop.

He also had a catch phrase that still amuses me; "There is nothing broken that I cannot repair, but If I can't fix it, it will be broken to a point that no one else can fix it".

Kind of like someone taking their own eggs, bacon, and bread to a restaurant and asking them to prepare it for free.
