Was hoping to put my daughter in preschool this year but was told we couldn't. Here is why.

You either have to not speak English.
Be a minority
Or make under 30k a year.

So if you are white and successful here, guess what your kid can't go to preschool.
Which is bull****.

I just paid to put mine through. Military is subsidized and about $100 a week for the rank I was at the time. It should be free for everyone though. Regardless.

The CDC (child development center) is subsidized, its all day from 6:30-5:30, they do breakfast, lunch, an afternoon snack and a 5 PM snack and the teachers all have to have Master's degrees and everyone working there has to be able to get a federal security clearance to work on base. $100 a week for an E-5 here, about $125 a week for E-6.

All that makes me smile, but also grinds my gears as that sort of thing should be that price for EVERYONE at least or free.

Preschool is overrated anyways. I didn't go and now I am a successful assistant manager of a low volume Pizza Hut.

We just wanted her to go, so she could get ready for kindergarten

The "experts" say its good for children to attend pre-school; it helps them "socialize" which better prepares them for kindergarten and up.

Yet, they deny your child because you by make too much money, or don't speak english? Makes a lot of sense.

That's why we sent our daughter and she started off way out in front in a lot of things although by the end of the kindergarten year, all the kids seemed to be on the same level regardless if they went to pre-school or not. I mean obviously some kids are just going to be better in some things than others but that's life.

In hindsight, she probably got way more out of pre-school for the social aspect which is also really important so it was totally worth it.

Yep, 100% agree there. She learned a lot of social skills and got to the point where she would rather go to school than stay home.

But again, it should be free for everyone with the option for people with the $$$ to pay to send their kids to "private" pre-schools if they want. Just like public school is now.

I'll stop before I get too political and violate ToS lol.

Oh yeah, they're very small, I still would like to get one. Granted, the Stingray is better, so I'd just get that.
