Yes I bought these straight up. I thinking about getting a account setup with him though. 12k would be way to easy to do that's the bad thing.

Yup. I did body work so he would see me doing a door skin and be like oh here is this sweet tool that will shave your work time in half. Do two doors and it's paid for. Bam sold me. But never did I pay that way. But the major chunk was the tool box. But I never even paid it off. Wish I had and kept it though.

Been working with my friend and a recruiter for my company. After several weeks of interviews he got a job offer this morning! He'll be able to move closer to his girlfriend (a close friend of mine as well), got a nice raise, will get to work for a manager I know personally and professionally, and I get a nice bonus! Everybody wins!

Why spend so much money on tools?????????

Have you never heard of "HARBOR FRIGHT? They sell all kinds of tools and are very inexpensive.
The tools and equipment they sell is all imported and way cheaper to buy then a Snap-On or Matco brand.
They also do "NOT" dissolve in your toolbox like the Snap-On or Matco Etc. Brand tools do. It seems like the expensive tools disappear and the inexpensive ones from Harbor Freight are always there.

I actually use to work for harbor freight, and their tool boxes aren't that bad. Well the big box and the top the drawers are supper smooth. The metal is just a little thin

Some stuff is harbor freight approved by me:

Shop Press
Vise
Cherry picker
Engine stand (as long as we talking small blocks)
Heat gun
Assorted sanding accessories
Prybars
Deadblow
Ect.

But when it comes to screwdrivers, pliers, wrenches, boxes, power tools, air tools you should always buy it like its the last one you will ever buy. And for me that's not harbor freight.

I've done 3 transmission changes, 8 wheel bearings, stripped down my motor to be pulled and various other things exclusively with HF tools. All I've broke was a 3/8" universal and they replaced it.

Now... When I work on aircraft I use Snap On... Nothing like taking off in a 500,000+lb aircraft that you just changed both nose tires on and if you did it wrong really bad **** could happen lol.

What made you smile today...?

I have quite a few air tools from them that if you take care of and oil seem to handle just as well and any other ones. And as far as the tool boxes, not the little ones that look like craftsmen one but the big one. But I've never have had experience with them. Just never saw them come back. But yeah I use craftsmen for my tools sense I don't need them daily for a job. I actually know of a guy that used a wrench from harbor freight and it broke, which caused him to break his hand and he sued and won

Does a mechanic bring his own tools to a job like a chef brings his knives to his?

Oh yeah Rosaiors3

99% of the time you are expected to supply your own tools except for some specialty tools.

Lowes Kobalt brand are good quality/price and often go on sale.
