You know all those memes going around recommending you do certain things to your car, but they actually ruin it?

I saw a post where a mechanic actually had someone put coolant in their master cylinder because they saw it would cool the brake lines.

Should have told him that the only guy who would think a dipstick is stupid is one who doesn't know how to use it.

Santa Spoiler Alert!

A friend telling me about taking his two grandsons (6 & 9) on a train ride to the North Pole to see Santa.....the 9 yr old at the limit of belief going "I don't even think we're heading north....next year I'm going to bring a compass"

now that is a kid who's gonna do well in life, he has doubts and knows how to find out the truth.

Good point. BMW's have now dropped a dipstick; I guess they feel that folks who own/drive the new ones cannot be bothered with expecting to know how to check their own oil. They rely on a sensor that lights up yet another "idiot light" or message in the info center to alert the driver. They then head over to the BMW dealer, pour themselves a free cup of foo foo coffee and wait for a BMW specialist to examine the oil level by OBD II connection.

Personally I think I'll like heading over to the Cadillac dealer when the car tells me it needs service....they have an espresso bar and someone to serve you...pastry....watch TV on the 75" TV and sit on a real couch...maybe stroll over to the glass windows to watch them work on my car......when you get old like me it's the simple things in life.........that bring the most pleasure...IMHO

Yet another sensor in those car that can fail and cost a fortune to fix. That's why I like some of the older mustangs better. Less power sure but a lot simpler to fix and keep running without spending a lot.
