$1.3Bn right now. Expected to go up by Wednesday. Cash payout is something like $800M and you'd see 400-500M after taxes. I'm not quite sure what I'd do with that amount of money...

After a bit over a year (yeah I'm slooooow) I have finished my bathroom rebuild. Included moving all plumbing, Swanstone shower walls, a 2 head shower, new electrical, raised ceiling, etc.......

my wife said it looks good but she's not sure on the color. I'll let her live with it for a while and if she still doesn't like it I'll change it out but I like it..

I don't buy a ticket because if I won all of my friends would hound me for $$$$$.
They would really be mad and drop me as a friend because after I buy all the cars I ever wanted and built a garage to hold them all, Got a lot of them restored, I would probably be broke and not have any $$$$ to even insure them and drive any of them.
A Billion dollars don't go very far now-A-days.

1 billion $$$$$$$$$$$$$ could buy you 19 of the 1962/63 Ferrari GTO's and still have about 10 million left over....or 4 of F35C Lightning II Fighter Jets and still have 200 million left over to start your own Air Force....of course after Uncle Sam gets his hands on the money you'd only be able to 1/2 of these...it's still aaaaaaa llllllloooooottttt of money...IMHO

What made you smile today...?

Way too much money.
What made me smile today, seeing a yellow New Edge in town! There's finally another one in town. It's been a long time since the last one left.

Pick your poison.

I was just kidding about buying all of those cars,
What I would really do with the Billion ( 800 Million lump sum) is to donate most of it to the Hillary for President fund. Then go home and "SHOOT MYSELF" Ha! Ha!

TBTH, if one was to win this and take the cash payout and get the $500M or whatever it is after all the taxes... getting a ton of sports cars with a garage first thing is legit the stupidest thing you could do.

You find someone legit to help you figure out how to manage it all and where to safely invest it/bank it, you take care of your family and close friends, you (unfortunately) will have to tell many ppl you thought were close friends and all of a sudden family members wanting to "make up for lost time" to toss off and deal with that drama...

Once everything stabilizes and you figure out a legit budget to keep you stable and wealthy for the rest of your life and your children and grandchildren's lives... then you go out and enjoy the toys.

My father in law's father actually won a smallish lottery of $10M or so after taxes some decades ago and I talked to him about it a few times. He said there were so many ppl coming out of the woodwork it was unbelievable and he also said he felt it almost wasn't worth it at the time because of all the drama... But I already had a huge falling out with most of the family on my side so at least that's already taken care of lol.

I know what you mean Scotty, You will find you have relatives that never existed before banging on your door.
Your right about getting a financial expert lawyer before even picking up the money. If you can divy up the money to who you want to give it to it eliminates a lot of tax problems as well as it just makes it way easier on you.

I'm lucky and pretty content with my life, Not much would change for me except I could go out to dinner more often, I could go to the shooting range more often, I would have a large garage with a lift. I would have my Suzuki Samurai fully restored and the money would just take the pressure off because I would still keep on driving the Mustang I have. ( AS YOU ALL KNOW THAT I LOVE MY MUSTANG)
I know I would have a maid service to keep my house clean,
I would go on a cruise.
I would fly to Alaska and rent a car and drive around for a month or two.

Of course I'm just talking because I would not be able to do any of that.
I would drop dead of a heart attack when I read I had all of the matching numbers.
Ronnie

I don't have a lot of family......so if I was to win I'd give everyone on the forum $1,000,000.00 with taxes paid for the first year.........that would make me happy and besides at my age you can't take it with you.
Best advise if anyone was to win is to put the ticket in a safe deposit box until you had put together your own team...Tax Lawyer, Financial Consultant, Business Lawyer and a very close trusted friend. Whatever you do don't take the lump sum as you lose too much money....take the 15 to 30 year payout....since most of you guys/girls are young.....IMHO

Best advice and yes the payout. I'd have to leave for about a week by myself and get my head straight if I won that kind of money. First thing I'd have to realize is that the life I knew is long gone lol... and the only ones to get money from me would be who was there for me before I got stupid filthy rich... not after. That means 90% friends, 10% family

If I may ask, what's it going for, price wise? You don't have to answer it if you don't want to. I'm just curious on the price.

That's a lot of car for that price. Less than what I paid for my Roush.
