The bumper is off getting some massaging to make it fit better. Otherwise the steering box need to be adjusted and a new rear wheel cylinder and a couple other things the were needing some attention but running good now.

We had plenty of winter here last year, not wanting another one like that. Collected about 30" of snow in my yard. Was early February before it started to melt. High temps were teens or lower for most of Dec-Feb. Typically we get about 2" - 4" at a time and it melts off the next day. Don't mind winter, but last year was brutal.

His steering wheel fell off that's what caused this. I have never laughed so hard 😂

I hope you made a point to ask if the brake pedal fell off too. My buddies would never let that one die.

It was while he was drifting, so it all happened pretty quick. Came out of a drift into a straight, began to initiate into another and........... wheel came off and into trees he went.

Finally finding an assisted living facility for my parents that meets their needs. For $7000 a month, it better.

A guy in a town near me has been working hard to get cruising back up and going here locally. It's gathered much attention and sounds like a big turnout will happen.

I miss going out for a cruise night.
I used to hang out with a group of Street Rodders.

I can say with an assured voice that one or two nights a week at Sonic and a few other drive-ins will make you fat.

No, my Merc Lead Sled is not channeled or lowered. I sit in it and it immediately drops to cruising height.

I wish I had a chopped and channeled Merc.

Makes me smile thinking about cruising the "Gut", the "Speck" and downtown Broadway in Portland, Oregon in the 60's. The guy to beat was nicknamed "The Greek" and had a 54 Ford with 406/tripower and 4spd...it was really a 427 Tunnel Port but not many people new that. What great memories

Lol! Sadly Sonic wants nothing to do with the cruise. I see it gaining them some business but I guess they don't want any cars wasting spaces. Thankfully there is an older drive in that has welcomed the group in.

Love those ole FE engines! I'm sure there won't be much horse play but I'll still be excited to see everyone dragging out their old rides. He's stressed that trucks/cars/old/new/rice and muscle are all welcome. I'll try to gather some pics tomorrow.

We never had an approval to gather at Sonic. They never turned down a constant group of customers either. There were no less than 30 cars every week.

The best looking cars were always parked out front, and some on the sidewalk by the road. Those cars brought in more customers that wanted to see the street rods. We also had a guy that drove a Countach, and a local dentist with a Viper. Those two cars always attracted attention.

I miss those days.

What is nice in the Daytona Area is that there is a cruise in just about every night of the week.
There is always something to do.

Sadly it's nothing like that here. The town this is starting up in is about 12,000 people. The nearest town bigger than that is two hours away. We have a dirt track and used to have a drag strip that got shut down in the early 90's. Plenty of motorheads nearby so I'm hoping for a decent turnout!

Cruise was a success, parked next to my friends vette. I'd guess 30-40 cars. Some rice, some muscle, some old trucks and a 2 1/2 ton military truck lol. Sadly didn't get many pictures, looking forward to the next one!

Since I had an incidental 2nd post I just decided to cut one of them down and add the link to the events Facebook page. Many many more photos there to enjoy.
