Re: The Offical Election 2008 Debate Thread

I've paid him 100% more than he has paid me. If others want to throw up information on those they support then that's fine. I've got my candidate for President and I know exactly what he believes in and know for certain through his record that he will live up to his promises.

Re: The Offical Election 2008 Debate Thread

After doing some more research on Ron Paul, I'm supporting him as well.

Everyone wants to talk about the cost of the war in Iraq. Here's a news flash: The wars in Iraq and Afghanistan combined have cost around $315 billion (taken from some liberal Bush-bashing site I found, so it may be high or low if it's old). The war on drugs has cost us... get ready for this... $500 billion since 1970. Taking inflation and the fact that much of it was spent years and years ago, this number is probably even higher in comparison to the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.

The best part? It's a war on us. On our liberties and freedoms. On, and I quote, our "certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness."

Ron Paul is the only candidate I've seen with the balls to say this.

Here's what he said:

Quote:

Today, we have the federal government going into states that have legal medical marijuana, arresting people--undermining state laws--arresting people who use marijuana when they're dying with cancer and AIDS, and it's done with, as a compassionate conservative. And it doesn't work.

What it does, it removes the ability to states to do their things, and also introduces the idea that it's the federal government that will get to decide whether we get to take vitamins, and alternative medical care, or whatever. Most of our history, believe it or not, had no drug laws. Prohibition has been an absolute failure for alcohol. Drug addiction is a medical problem. It's not a problem of the law.
The man's a genious I tell you.

Re: The Offical Election 2008 Debate Thread

I have a good feeling that Ron Paul will place much much higher in Iowa and NH than anyone believes he will. Hell today I saw a Ron Paul yard sign and a car with a Ron Paul sticker on it. People are fed up with this status quo bs that these politicians keep giving us.

I saw quite a few RP signs while driving down to Cullman today.

ron paul seems like a great candidate but i can only hope that he spawns more politicians who take a nonconforming type stance.

Re: The Offical Election 2008 Debate Thread

Looks like it's Huck and Obama in the first state. Ron Paul beat Giuliani which was very surprising and is very close to the 3rd and 4th guys. Be interested in what it says when all the votes are counted for those guys.

Paul is so close too placing 3rd! I wish more and more people would stop supporting the same bull**** over and over again. I can't wait till New Hampshire. This support is much larger than anyone gave him and I think it will improve his chances in NH.

yeah, so Paul got 10%... haha.

The Rep. field (at least those that won), don't seem to be all that strong.

Yea 10% after being having to work 1000% harder than every other candidate to get interviews, on talk shows and into debates. A whole 4% less than John McCain who has been a household name for 20 years. I'd say that's pretty damn good. As for not being strong, I'd say the Republcains are a bit stronger... right now the Democrats don't know who they want... that's why there are three people so close to each other.

eh, Huckabee didn't get THAT good of percentage... 34% compared to 38% for Obama. I'd say that the Dems had 3 good front runners and the Rep field was a little more spread out, which is why the percentages showed up through 5 candidates instead of just 3.

What blows my mind is how anyone can think Romney is a better candidate than everyone he is ahead of. He's the John Kerry of the Republicans. Full of **** robot just spouting out whatever he thinks people want to hear.

It's a 4% difference PLUS the percentages are going to be closer because if you vote for a person who doesn't get 15% you have to revote for someone who got 15% or higher the first time. See this: http://www.mustangevolution.com/forum/t30301/

my only point was that it wasn't like the Rep was a lot higher than the Dem... I realize about the voting differences... I am not going to argue politics on this board, I learned that lesson a very long time ago

If Huckabee gets the nod, I hope he takes paul for his running mate, I think that would just be bad ***.

I'm sad that all the Democrats stopped debating. Now I have no one to try to tell me that more government is the solution to our problems.
