Re: Hmmmmmmmm I want this for Christmas.

Agreed, but they did a great job. I'd say better than Ford's version of the new Mustang imo.

completely agreed... but yet i still like that ford took some styling from the older mustang but didn't completely copy it.. but dodge on the other hand almost completely copied the challenger don't get me wrong i do like the new challenger but i think they are trying to hard to copy and now doing enough to make a "new" challenger

Well I think they decided to copy it plus minor updates due to their own mistake and GM's mistake with the GTO and the Charger. Given both of them are nice cars as they are, but with classic names, should come classic styling. Retro is in now and retro should mean more then just bring back an old name and badging it on a new car that is completely unrelated to the original.

yeah... the gto is crap it looks like everything else they just stuck the name on it and handed it to stupid peopl... and the charger was crap too but i like ford's way like with the new stangs that have old styling but new styling as well but more equal but the challenger is more old then new... i think they should stop trying to recreate the old car to tack the name to and just try and make a new car worth of the old names

I wouldn't go as far as saying both those cars are crap. I like them, but they need to be rebadged IMO. The charger could of easily had a take off name of the magnum. As far as the GTO goes it just needed a different name, but they knew if they badged it a GTO that it would sell. They were wrong. It didn't sell enough and that is why it is no longer made. Now if they would of been smart like ford and offered a v6 model it probably would of kept it afloat, but with a 30k starting price tag. That was a bad move on there part. I could easily buy a base model 07 GT and boosted it and had a more bang for my buck product.

However If I was looking for a 4 door family sedan I'd be all over a charger. Not mean performance sedans out there these days. Hell if they just offered a 2door version of the charger and changed the grille a bit. It would not be hard to get it to look a lot like an older charger.

Re: Hmmmmmmmm I want this for Christmas.

The Charger is a nice Dad car. Something with style, performance, beats any kind of mini van bull****.

The GTO, though priced horribly, the new LS2 versions are gems. You can get a used one for 20-25k with under 30k miles on it. So you're getting a VERY well made car with a Corvette engine in it. Don't knock the GTO till you try it, the LS2's are fast, can easily be modded, have an outstanding interior, and sound amazing.

Re: Hmmmmmmmm I want this for Christmas.

the GT0s look like crap... they like look like the next generation Cavalier... thats my only issue with them. They stuck the engine in a car they already had to cut corners... and its shows now that they stopped making them due to they couldnt sell them for crap.
